WOW!! JUST WOW!!! I called to talk to a lawyer regarding suing someone who assaulted me. THEY ASKED ME if suing was civil or criminal because they weren't sure. Then I was told that they would take my number and IF the lawyers were INTERESTED in my case I would get a call back, if not, I just wouldn't hear from them. Unbelievable!!

I was introduced to Shelley when I joined BNI. Not long after, I purchased a house. This was the third property that I had purchased as a home, so the third lawyer I had dealt with for my real estate needs. The previous lawyers did not make an impression on me and I did not return to their services. What was different about Shelley is that she sat down with my husband and I and went page by page through the documents we needed to sign. She explained all the jargon and legalese in language we could understand and stopped to clarify when we had a question. She answered all the questions we had, and I felt like I understood what we were signing. The entire process went smoothly and without a hitch, just like she promises up front. Over the subsequent years I have known her, I have been impressed with Shelley’s trustworthiness, honesty and integrity and I would highly recommend her as a real estate lawyer. The worst experience with this firm. They dragged out the process, then when we questioned the price, the lawyer, Rob, threatened to stop work 3 days before closing on a house. We did the foot work to find out answers rather than them waiting to get a call from the city and in the end it cost $4200 to close on the house. The average closing cost is around $1500, yes there were a few complicated issues, but not $4200 worth. Extremely unprofessional. I will be letting everyone know what a rip off this lawyer is, how we were basically held hostage and how very rude and unprofessional they are. They will be getting a whole bunch of free advertising from me. I will also be filing complaint to the Law Society of Alberta.

I have now waited 5 months for a summary report on a land transaction which closed on Oct 8/21. Poor service, lack of communication and its become extremely aggravating. If things don't improve soon I may have too file in small claims in order to receive closure on this matter.
