I had my bike sitting in storage for 2 years and both tires were flat and the chain was off. The tech guy Alex at Velofix phoned to tell me he would be 25 minutes late but I said I had to leave for work by 130pm so he hustled and was approximately 15 minutes late. I left him with my bike and went back upstairs to my apartment to finish errands. He texted in maybe 20 minutes to tell me it was ready. I was charged only $50 for service which is normally $125/hour so I was quite happy. He provided me a discount for services because he was late and really, had just pumped up my tires and popped chain back on. Easy Peasy. I did not take bike out that day…instead I took it out next day and it was fine. By the third day, the back tire was flat. He replied to my text messages that he could come back to replace the tube later in the week but he would charge me the balance remaining after discount. My question is why didn’t he replace the tube in the first place? And the answer is because he didn’t bother to properly check the tires and just pumped them up. Seriously, I could have hauled my bike to a gas station air pump but I am paying for his expertise to ensure that my bike is safe to ride and in good running order. Instead of waiting a week for Velofix to return, I took my bike to Caps cycle in Richmond. I’ve attached photos of the correct tube vs. the one in my bike. The tech at Caps cycle surmised that the tube which was the wrong size for my bike, was likely twisted which explains why it was a slow leak. This tube was originally installed at Mactalla Cycle in East Van for a full bike maintenance which cost about $250. I highly recommend Caps Cycle Krusty bicycles for all your bike needs and to avoid both Velofix and Mactalla. You cannot trust them.
Velofix has been great to deal with for each of the 3 service calls I have used them for. They’re extremely punctual and professional — and its so convenient! Kevin was my tech for the last two service calls and he was great!
Keith did a great job. Indoor bike running great after the cables were changed. He even had time to check my other 2 bikes. Very convenient. Great service-would highly recommend.
Overall, my experience with Velofix was excellent! Booking online was easy and my tech, Alex was knowledgeable and able to quickly diagnose my bikes problem and sort it out. I will be back and happy to recommend to others.
Amazing service, Alex was very professional, left my bike looking and working like new after a popped tire and chain problems. Transparent pricing and service. Will definitely ask for the service again, highly recommended!
Not only is it handy to have your bike worked on at home but the mechanics are very good and happy to talk about the work and all things bike. I always learn something new after a service.
I love Velofix, it is so convenient for them to come to your door to work on my bike. Alex, the mechanic who assembled my Rad e-bike and did a tune up on my regular bike, was awesome, polite, friendly and very helpful! I highly recommend Velofix and will be certain to call them again the next time I need my bike fixed.
I booked a visit for the same day! Keith arrived on time in his van and had my bike repaired and ready for the road in 30 minutes. Super convenient and cost less than bringing it to the shop! Definitely will use this service again.
Velo Fix is the best service! I’ve been getting my bikes serviced by them for years and they never disappoint. All their mechanics are incredibly knowledgeable and thorough. I just had my brand new bike serviced which was making an annoying noise. Kevin, the mechanic, did an excellent and painstaking job checking everything to try to fix it. In the end the noise was finally gone and I couldn’t be happier. I highly recommend Velofix for all your bike service needs!
Keith was great! Amazing service, I’ll definitely stay with him as my personal mechanic I’ll recommend him without doubt.
