When in New Ulm, one must eat German food!! We visited from the Twin Cities and decided to have dinner here. Fantastic service and great food! Best Sauerkraut I have ever tasted and fall-off-the-bone ribs!! 100% would eat there again!!

Ever since Gasthof Zur Gemutlichkeit closed I've been searching for great German food. Unfortunately, this place doesn't quite git the bill. The food was good, not great. The schnitzel was tasty but the sausages were nothing special. I did enjoy my beer cheese soup and the sided salad is impressively large. If I come here again, I'll try something that's not on the German menu.

I always make it a point to stop here when I visit New Ulm and I'm this round we were able to have a spring with a good friend of our here in town. It is a local favorite and I do love my beer and brats. A few notes from this most recent visit: I don't know if the knives aren't sharp or the ribs are too tender but the knives couldn't cut them. Ribs tasted good regardless. But even when I tried to saw the ribs apart the knives just sort of smashed them instead of cutting through them. The pretzel is good but a bit salty. Found myself having to brush off as much salt as I could to keep it from overwhelming the bread. Otherwise, a good overall experience. Also, make sure you get a Schell's beer with your meal. It is a must in New Ulm.

The line was out the door when we arrived on a Saturday evening but they quickly seated all of our groups. There is a great selection of German dishes and beers.

We stopped on our way home from a camping trip. Very good food and a chance to try German food. My husband loved the ribs and I got the beer battered cod which was also very yummy! The fries were very good, the fried green bean appetizer was super good, but I think my favorite was the spatzle the gravy was very salty, but I liked that.nnVery nice staff. They were kind even though they seemed a little tired and busy.
