Overall not a great experience. They were sold out of calamari, the beer we wanted, and had no diet pop available. The portions were huge, which is great! But the Greek salad only have one olive on top and none of the main dishes came with pita even the vegetarian platter that had a cup of hummus. The interior was very cute, but the owner wasn’t the friendliest in my opinion.
The decor and vibe in this restaurant is amazing! Especially if you come in for dinner when they turn on the lights, it’s very romantic and feels like having the dinner in Greece. The food are in large portion except for the appetizers. The prawn we order from appetizer section is such small portion which only has 8 small prawns and costs $16. However the main dishes are decent. Although it costs nearly $30 for each main dish, they taste good and in good size. The server was very busy handling orders and everything for almost all the tables in the entire restaurant so just be patient and plan ahead if you’re in a hurry.
Got the Greek authentic platter for 2 as takeout, but the volume of food would likely be good for 3-4 actually! Good overall, tho the pita was a bit hard/over baked. Otherwise the lamb was tender, the spanakopita was great, and the moussaka had a fluffy texture. The meatballs were good but didn’t stand out among the rest, and the calamari wasn’t as crispy, tho as it’s take out, maybe it was due to moisture trapping within the tin foil. Overall though, solid meal and good quality, and I would come back, maybe in person versus takeout this time.
Wonderful ambience - eclectic Greek decor. Food was fantastic. Our server was warm and friendly. I'd go back and recommend. Fave dish was the lamb! 1st photo - lamb was oh sooo soft Moussaka would be second best Shrimp would be third The last one although still excellent was the chicken of skwers. The side dishes salad, rice are yum
A very delicious meal served with good service and a delightful atmosphere. I'm a little shocked that it's rated poorly on Google as I really enjoyed my time here and we'll definitely go back. We had the grilled squid and rack of lamb which we shared.
The decoration is super nice, food are tasty, better than other Greek cuisine I have eaten before. we ordered a bottle of wine. The waitress with glasses served great! I definitely will go back again.
Lovely decoration and vibe in this place. I felt like being in another country when walking in and eating. The food was plenty and tasty. The server was at another level with her service!
STAY AWAY! AVOID AT ALL COST!!!!! Aside from very slow to service, no water was provided 15mins after seated. I was going to rate them 4 stars because the food is not bad; however, the owner rushed out after I paid the bill with 18% of tips saying that we should have ordered more food rather than just order one dish only. Telling us that we were a very demanding customer we spoke nothing until we waited 15mins without being served anything. How da hell is that demanding? Finally, he spoke the golden word: “You guys should just go eat at the Chinese restaurant!” Zero star given. This racist old man. Such a pity that the restaurant was kinda well decorated. Would’ve been a nice restaurant if the owner isn’t that racist.
The whole experience was way better than I expected. The seating area was very pleasant, we had a seat by big open windows and it just felt quirky, authenic and real. Our server was polite, efficient and chatty when she had a bit of time. We had a Chicken and Lamb souvlaki, a vegetarian plate with spankopita, and the ribs and chicken. Overall, the food was 9/10. Good size portions, fresh veggies, fresh herbs and lovely tsatziki, yummy hummus, the ribs were great, the chicken was a bit dry but reasonable enough with the sauces. The rice was a bit odd but pretty tasty. The potatoes were really good but not as good as mine, but I can't fault them for that. Spankopita was perfect. The domades weren't very good. Overall everyone gobbled their food and were very happy. We didn't eat desert, but we took a bit of food away in a takeaway dish. In retrospect, I would order a slightly smaller dish rather than the chicken and ribs dish. The chicken and lamb souvlaki was a better size, and I guess I also felt that with the exprience being so authentic, the lamb definitely went better with the general theme than the pork ribs although they were delicious. Overall - I'm verry happy. We'll be going back.
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Vassilis Souvlaki Greek Taverna, and let me tell you, the experience was nothing short of amazing. While I had heard great things about the food beforehand, I was pleasantly surprised to find that the meal was even more delicious than I had anticipated. From the moment I stepped foot into the restaurant, I was struck by the beauty of their plant collection. It was absolutely stunning, and added so much life and vibrancy to the space. The ambiance was simply wonderful - warm, inviting, and the perfect backdrop for a delicious meal with great company. And then, of course, there was the food. I must admit, I was slightly skeptical about the Greek cuisine at first, but Vassilis Souvlaki quickly changed my mind. The flavors were bold and authentic, and the quality of the ingredients was evident in every single bite. I was particularly impressed with their vegetarian options - it can be difficult to find delicious meatless options in a Greek restaurant, but Vassilis Souvlaki more than delivered. All in all, I had a truly wonderful experience at Vassilis Souvlaki Greek Taverna. The food was spectacular, the ambiance was inviting, and the plant collection was beyond stunning. I cannot recommend this restaurant enough - if you're in the area, be sure to stop by for a meal you won't forget! Parking: Got to register your license
