I have been in a few times shopping for fun wedding decor and have found some great pieces! I will agree with many people who have left reviews saying some of the prices are way too high though. I am shopping for decorations that will more than likely be donated back so not interested in spending hundreds of dollars - may need to sell them after instead to recoup some $
Not as "much" value as before the pandemic. But you can still find a steal here and there. Lots of essentials for the everyday. A ton better than paying full retail pricing, and you get to reuse wich is better than recycling.
Value Village has always been a place I've enjoyed and I personally love thrifting. The store itself was fairly clean and organized. I was able to browse comfortably and staff were friendly. My main issue with Value Village is a wider concern. The fact is, Value Village gets 99% of their inventory maybe slightly less for absolutely no cost; completely and utterly free to them. Yes, they have to pay employees to sort and stock the product, yes they have overhead, but when your products have been GIVEN to you by the community, you shouldn't be asking for unreasonable amounts of money for said products. Jeans use to be less than $10. Nowadays, they're closer to $20, and many are higher. Value Village also prices based on brand and I'm assuming market cost of the actual products as new, but charging $20 for one pair of used jeans is wrong. I'm sorry, but many people can barely afford clothes; those on any type of assistance [ODSP, OW, etc] have literally no money after "basic needs" you'd think clothes would count... and rent/bills to afford anything and DEPEND on locations like this. The fact I could buy NEW clothes for the same price elsewhere is shameful. The community depends on services like this to alleviate their poverty. Unlike other companies Value Village should be considerably less affected by inflation as they have very few new products relative to the rest of their inventory. Long story short? Value Village is becoming much greedier with their prices and it's very disappointing. I hope they realise their position and begin pricing things more reasonably again.
One of the bestest place you ever found in Canada. You can have all necessary second as old items here with the cheapest price. You can purchase furniture , cloths , shoes and many more. But see for availability cause some times not every items are available here.
Prices have gone down in recent years. I was disappointed with the change rooms being removed. So it's definitely inconvenient for clothing purchases. Store was clean bright and I used a cashier. Will be going again
If you're looking for vinyl records, avoid this place. Waaaaaaaay overpriced. I found a bunch of good ones... Realized they put the prices inside the jacket. I nearly crapped my pants when I saw the prices. I quickly put them back. Never going there again.
Honestly I love this value village. I’ve been to a lot of value villages and different thrift stores but the prices here are amazing and they are very accommodating if a price tag is missing. Thanks
Love going to this store with its friendly staff, always find something.....have spent many enjoyable hours here.
Decent shopping experience. Store was clean and well organized. Prices have increased, which is a bit sad to see considering this is a secondhand store and some people truly rely on these stores. I bought X2 of the same item - one was $1.99 and the other was $3.99. the clerk did honor it and gave me both for the same price, but just something to watch for when you're shopping.
Staff is really nice and helpful. Im not happy about the outrageous pricing on items that have been donated. Even if they are brand names or were once expensive, people rely on 2nd stores because they are low income or destitute.
