I’ve always enjoyed thrift shopping, but lately my experiences at Value Village Charlottetown have been disappointing. The biggest issue is the noticeable increase in prices. Many items that used to be reasonably priced now cost almost as much as buying them new. Clothing, household items, and even basic used goods often feel overpriced for a secondhand store—especially considering all items are donated.nnWhile the store is usually clean and the staff are friendly, the rising prices take away from the value that used to make shopping here worthwhile. It’s becoming harder to justify paying so much for donated items, and it feels like the store has moved away from being truly affordable for the community.nnI hope Value Village reconsiders its pricing strategy, because right now it doesn’t feel like the budget-friendly thrift option it once was.
Store was kept clean and organized. They had a loss prevention officer posted at the door. Not sure if the area is known for crime but it was good to feel safe. Prices on most things were pretty reasonable. I enjoyed looking around. Checkout was self checkout which was a first for me in a thrift/secondhand store!
Overpriced now. Semi good deals depending on what you're looking for. Prices are higher at VV then some original ticketed prices. Go to The Mission thrift store, less options, but way better USED prices.
I found a used copy of trivial pursuit which was great. however, the staff were rude and i felt as if the place was woefully underfunded. so much mess and sloppy organisation. this was two years ago so maybe they got better
Shocked by the horrible prices at this location. $8.99 for a handful of dirty gross croc jibbits. 2.99 for an empty candle jar and 2.99 for an expired soda stream bottle that has potential to blow up in your face. Not impressed at all. Value village gets these items for free then rips people off. Very sad to see.
