There is plenty to look at this Value Village in Abbotsford. There are always good deals at these stores for stuff that you might want. They even sell brand new socks there and not used ones. I also like the Halloween retail such as the costumes and decorations there.
If i could give zero stars i would. I went to checkout and one of my tags had fallen off, they then accused me of switching the tags which i didnt! and gave me a new price for the hoodie that was $17 instead of $12. They then started going through all my clothes and making me feel like a thief! We got to the boots that i had chosen and they said “this isnt the write price either itll be $40 instesd of $18!!” once again making me feel like a thief! The price of the boots was what was on there when i picked them up, why is that price not being honoured? i told them i wont be buying them especially since they got these boots for FREE and were trying to charge me $40 for old worn out boots. The rude lady then yelled at me and said “actually we pay for all these clothes”. Now im sure they actually do buy some of their stuff from the diabetes association but i have personally donated FREE clothing, like many other people i saw also donating FREE stuff today. for her to say they pay for all their clothing is crazy, and im sure the clothes they buy is at a very cheap price for what they sell it for, keep in mind this place is a for profit business!!!! lets be real yall, we live in abby with way better thrift stores that actually are charity based. Try MCC instead! Wake up people and stop shopping here.
Value Village has taken a DEEP nosedive. Not only does the store have nothing to do with “value” anymore, but what’s worse is that prices for old, and sometimes even damaged stuff, are just though the roof! Not only for clothes, but also especially for old, well used, stained, and yes, even items that are covered in rust. This used to be a great store once for those of us who couldn’t always pay for new stuff elsewhere. But my latest experience was that I left in disgust because I felt they were just trying to milk poor people for everything they can get out of them. Considering this store gets everything as free donations, one would think that they would have the courtesy to give back to the community in kind by having *reasonable* prices for old stuff. Luckily there are other thrift stores in town that are less given to greedy profiteering.
Here’s the updated version with that detail included:nnI’m appalled by my recent experience at Value Village. After living down the street for 15 years and being a loyal customer, I was kicked out of the store because staff assumed I looked like a thief and, even more outrageously, a drug dealer. These accusations were entirely based on my appearance, which is both discriminatory and unacceptable.nnIt’s shocking to be treated this way by a store I’ve supported for so long. Everyone deserves to shop without being stereotyped or humiliated. Value Village, you need to address this behavior with proper training for your employees. Until then, I won’t be returning and cannot recommend this store to anyone.
I don't find Value Village of value at all if one would really think about what they're paying. They get all that for free and they're generally I would say on average selling things at 30% below new cost for example. Like I've seen so many times a polo shirt from you know a cheap store like Superstore or Walmart and new there like 20 bucks Value Village is trying to sell it for 13 and it's old and beat up and used it's pretty crazy if you go to a store that has a good sale happening 40/50 % off which happens twice a year you'll get way better deals for brand new clothing. They used to be really value now it's ridiculous nothing is cheap there.
