The self-guided tour gives you plenty of time to explore the open areas on your own time, which is good because there is enough to learn and see to spend hours and hours here! We enjoyed the history, intricate engineering, and sobering reality of the comforts our forces leave behind to defend freedom. Highly recommend!
I love to search on my own on this ship. It was an incredible and adventurous journey on this self-guided tour throughout the ship. You should call to check the opening hours since the hours in Google Map are not correct. I will come back some days. From Seattle with love
This is a terrific tour of a destroyer! You can go just about everywhere in the ship- engine room, bunk areas, officer quarters, bridge etc. the stairs between decks are very steep so you need to be very careful. Really enjoyed this after serving on one almost 50 years ago! Well worth the visit!
Cool to experience how the sailors lived. Definitely a lot of steep steps and narrow walkways. Also, parts of the ship got pretty hot, so visiting on a very hot day might not be the best time. Overall it was very well maintained, and the kids as well the adults found it very interesting.
Loved it, highly recommend it. Several members of the retired crew were there to explain things. Lots of steep stairs but worth it. Self guided tour with well located signing. It's a great way to see how the sailors lived aboard a ship.
What a fun museum! The best part are the veterans who were there to give us the tour. They are clearly passionate about the ships history. Like others have pointed out you will go up and down 10 sets of very steep ladders FYI
Destroyer, good details and history. Small associated gift shop but decent "stuff."
Awesome access to various parts of ship. Great history and informed staff that served on the ship
Very cool ship with lots of history!
