Pretty cool museum. The man at the front collecting the money could brush up on his people skills. Maybe he just got out of bed on the wrong side. The ship is 3 levels and lots to see on every level. It is right along the bike path. If you ride your bike don't use the bike rack. The irrigation system is pointed right at it. Quite the suprise to have everything soaking wet on a gorgeous day.
Can't believe I've lived in Muskegon my whole life and this is the 1st time I've been through the LST 393. I brought the kids after the Memorial Day parade. So it was the perfect time to continue our education on why we remember All gave some. Some gave all.
Great museum! It’s educational and they host fun events as well like D-Day remembrances. They have some pretty cool displays inside. Well worth a visit.
Wonderful displays!!! The entire family enjoyed it. Beautiful views on the deck.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
The history at this museum is incredible. The many plaques throughout the museum are very interesting to read, and they paint a picture of what the ship must’ve been like in its prime as a warship. You can go down as far as the engine room and up as far as the top level! There is a gif shop inside for souvenirs. Prices are reasonable at $10/adult as if 2021.
Great experience to go through the ship. It has a lot of memorabilia inside. I learned a lot about the D-day of Normandy invasions. There's no guide, you can follow the maps throughout the ship. If you have difficulties on climbing stairs or have issues with tight spaces you may not be able to get into all the locations. They arrange also sleepovers in the ship if you're interested.
Such an amazing museum to learn LST's and their purpose in the war. They had a gift shop and bathroom on sight.kept my 5 year old entertained the entire time
Allot packed into a real piece of military history. Staff were friendly and eager to answer questions one gave personal stories of fallen soldiers. Only the ground level is wheelchair assessable.
very cool historical site.. very warm not much air so u will sweat..lol but beautiful view from up top.
It a nice little museum.... 4 stories high. Can see a lot about the ship. Worth the trip.
