What a delightful afternoon! It was an impromptu break during a long drive so we didn't know what to expect. The knowledgeable guide educated us about the fascinating history of the ship it is older than the Titanic! as well as the general industries around the Great Lakes. Several places have been restored to original. It was like stepping back in time. The hour long tour was well worth the cost of admission.
We took the tour, which was very interesting and lasted a full hour for $10 for adults. The ship is being restored one bit at a time by the lovely group of volunteers as they get the time and funds to do so which the tickets help with, so don't expect a perfect looking 118 year old ship, but they're making great progress.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entry$6–10
The SS Milwaukee Clipper is a fantastic ship with a tons of history almost 120 years worth!. Truly a hidden gem in Muskeegon and worth the visit. Tour guides were very informative and knowledgeable!
I was a childhood fan of the Milwaukee clipper when I would see it leave Muskegon harbor while camping in Muskegon State Park. I followed it with curiosity over the decades since it's retirement, and recently took a pilgrimage to Muskegon to tour the ship. The guides were informative and friendly. There's still a lot of work to do in the restoration process, but the preservation group is working diligently on fundraising and developing a volunteer base. Plenty of room for the tour to become more popular, as I was the only person on my tour. I enjoyed it thoroughly and took lots of photos!
We took our 3 kids and had a great guided tour. Everyone learned something about this neat ship, even our 5 year old!Wait time10–30 minReservation recommendedNoPrice for adult entry$6–10
Step back in time on the vintage Milwaukee Clipper. Every turn, every room will be a time capsule worthy surprise, from the state rooms, to the dance floor, to the movie theater, the ice cream parlor to the bar. Everything is vintage to the early 40's. The ship itself predates the Titanic!! This tucked away hidden treasure is definitely worth a visit. Check the website for days and times. Tours leave on the hour and take an hour, but it will be well worth it! Please note the ship is still a restoration in progress. Also, this endeavor is run by volunteers so please be flexible.
Please offer an abridged / self guided tour for those who do not have the time / interest in learning everything there is to know about the ship. My family enjoyed seeing the ship but the guide was using the extended play version of the tour. We had to bail 45 minutes in, covered maybe 20% of the vessel.
There are no self guided tours.
I love big boats freighters and trains always have since little girl my great grandpa was a marine and many was stories he told just held a spot in my heart for big boats freighters
She is a beautiful ship and I am happy to have toured her! My tour guide Brock was excellent!
