I just bought a Skovby desk from Urban Mode. I was impressed by the process from start to finish. I was warmly welcomed in the store. Lisa and Myrelene promptly answered my emails and provided quality information. Jason eased any concerns I had about transportation issues. Bobby was efficient at the warehouse. I highly recommend Urban Mode!
Urban Mode’s “sincerest” apology is clearly intended to shift the blame onto the customer. I only just came across their reply to my review, so time has passed as of this writing. However, the experience was one of the most unpleasant encounters we’ve ever had so it stands out in my memory. It was just as I described in my review below. According to Urban Mode, we called multiple times. We called a total of 3 times, which I guess, counts as “multiple.” My wife, twice and once myself. We were more persistent than we would normally be, only because we thought our request- to offer to pay in full, with just a grace period to confirm if the table would fit- was reasonable. We were in the middle of moving to a new place, did not have the keys yet; and just needed a chance to check the dining room measurements. I understand policy when it is intended to improve the business and provide a better experience to customers. I will leave readers to judge for themselves if this was the case. We’ve since purchased a gorgeous table elsewhere and are extremely happy with it, so it worked out better for us. Needless to say, we won’t be returning to Urban Mode. My wife and I had a very unpleasant experience dealing with staff at this store. We happened to drop by yesterday and we're pleased to find that they were having a sale. We saw a table that we liked at a great price. The sale was only for 2 days so even though we were not sure the table would fit the place we were moving into we called them the next day to purchase the table. We were informed that the sale would be final. We then offered to pay for it then if they could give us until noon the next day to find out if the table would fit. A reasonable request in my mind. This was met with a stern refusal by the staff member in a very impatient, rude manner. She nearly put the phone down on me before I said that we still wanted to buy the table. Despite the inconsiderate and dismissive treatment from staff we still were willing to go through with the purchase. The final straw came when we were arranging delivery for a specific date and were informed that if anything happened to the table -while still in their possession- before the delivery, they would not be responsible. This literally broke the deal for me. I have been to many furniture stores in the city and have never experienced such unaccommodating and rude treatment from staff. Quite the opposite in fact. Most stores have been very helpful and considerate. It was as if they didn't want us to buy the table for some reason. They made us feel like we were unworthy of their time.
I love this store! It has everything from house numbers to unique furniture and art and the staff is amazing. When traveling in California we went to a restaurant that had these really amazing Blue Dot chairs. When we got back to Toronto, I started to looking into whether or not we could buy them here and was pleasantly surprised to learn that we could get them at Urban Mode. Great store and great customer service.
The team at Urban Mode when above and beyond to ensure I was happy with my order and that I got it in a timely manner. Myrlene and Jared are such a pleasure to deal with! I'll for sure be going back for more wonderful selections of furnishings and accessories.
I love dealing with Urban Mode -- they have great furniture, with lots of selections and upholstery options. The staff are knowledgeable, friendly and professional, not pushy or aggressive. I recently bought a couch, chair and ottoman, and even their delivery service was punctual and professional. You really can't go wrong buying from Urban Mode -- I highly recommend them.
An amazing selection of modern chairs and stools. Myrlene took time to help us find the dining chairs and counter stools that be both comfortable and good looking. I think we tried out every chair and stool in the store. She even encouraged us to take one home to try out in our space before we decided. Could not have asked for a better experience.
In this day and age of disappointing customer service and inferior product quality, I have always been a very satisfied customer at Urban Mode. For over 20 years, I have shopped at Urban Mode and bought anything from small kitchen items to large garden decor pieces and with each purchase I have enjoyed a superior buying experience of high quality products. Many times I've visited the store just to get decor ideas as their selection is always inspiring with products I am unable to find elsewhere. Never have I felt pressure to buy and the knowledgable staff are always willing to give me ideas for my decor dilemmas. When looking for a piece of furniture or unique decor piece I always go to Urban Mode first.
