Dr. Hercher and Julia went above and beyond to treat our family member with the utmost care and respect. We arrived early in the morning and were treated and on our way before 11AM. I loved that they shared how long it would take for the test results to arrive and were on top of the pain medicine as quickly as possible. We left with clear instructions for pain management, follow-up and a referral for a new family physician.
I had the experience to visit this place multiple times for myself or to see my friends. It is a great facility in Toledo area and around. The staff you will see there are very respectful and polite. The library at this place is so quite and beautiful where a person could spend a whole day without getting tired.
WORST ER & WORST ER DR ANDREA FOLINSKI THE WHOLE WORLD & the ER Nurses are rude and my first nurse lied about the female Dr stating she never would/will order my pain medication for my back, leg & cellulitus. Then after 31/2 hrs with no pain medication and a new shift nursse came in and when i iI ask about some pain medication AGAIN.a real young nurse ask if ur unhappy why do iI keep coming back ? I told her my Cardiac Docor of 13 years was there , She told me the plent of other Doctors around. The Doctor came in and I told her what the young nurse and the charge nurse Sarah on 7pm-7am said she stated that was the NEW emergency room after COVID . I then ask for AMA to get the HELL OUT of that ER. RUN AND RUN FAST !!!!!!!!
I'd give zero stars if I could!! I could barely walk, I managed to get inside and immediately squated down for back pain relief. I could NOT get back up. Triage nurse helped me get into the wheelchair that another patient got for me. 2hrs in waiting room before being brought back. I think I saw a doctor. .after xrays OUCH! and using the bathroom what a walk and omg OUCH! brought back the urine sample that they didn't need. Diagnosis? Bilateral low back pain with sciatica. Treatment? A shot of steroids. Well, I told them I had back pain. I knew I had sciatica. I was able to walk out of there a little straighter than I'd walked in and in almost as much pain but that was after about 3.5 hours of being able to lay down and switching positions every 30 minutes. I had to use the nurse button to even get the injection I'd been told I'd receive which was after 2 hrs of being in the room 4hrs after going in and was discharged about 5.5 hours after going in. On a Tuesday at around 10am. . .still don't know what the xrays showed besides 'a space'. They'll be getting my middle finger when I get their bill... I will say the receptionist/admit gal at the front and the triage nurse showed me more compassion than any staff member and the one patient that helped showed the most compassion.. DO BETTER!!!!
Women don’t come here. Awful experience. Came in with crippling pain. Waited 2 hours in tears. Not one person checking on me. When the doctor came in, didn’t even introduce herself. Christine Smith is the name on my discharge papers. The whole staff was rude, nonchalant. Didn’t care to test or admit me. But I could hear all the politeness in the other rooms. IDK why but a security officer followed me out too. Not try to help me walk while i was crying and holding onto walls….but followed until I left. The most degrading feeling coming to this hospital feeling less than human the moment you walk in. They could have told me they don’t handle women’s issues instead of wasting my time and money.
If I could give 0 stars, I would. I took my daughter here last night to have a bad cut glued. Very rude staff, doesn't seem to care much about anyone's situations. Once in a room and my daughter got glued up we were waiting for a dose of amoxicillin. We waited for over an hour and of course my child fell asleep, it was late. During this time, there was a lady in the room next to us screaming for someone to help her. She was screaming for about an hour before a nurse went in. I even tried to make a nurse aware of what was happening and she said "we know" with some major attitude. If you go to an ER expecting care, you should receive it properly. Now this morning, I got a phone call from someone asking about my experience. When I began telling her about that situation with the lady, SHE HUNG UP ON ME!!! If you want to be treated like a human with basic rights without feeling degraded, DO NOT USE THIS ER!!!!!!
They never called the GI Team like the Team said to & told me stool was black from Iron which I haven't taken for 8 weeks. They said I have a chronic ulcer, which isn't even a feasible condition.
Went in with a bad infection after major surgery in Cleveland. Had a procedure forced on me after telling them to stop. This procedure was improper protocol for my complaint. X-ray taken was also inappropriate for my complaint. Dr Ma in the ER is not only incompetent as a physician, but staff appear to be made to feel they cannot challenge him. I have several physicians at UTMC which are very capable, competent, and great people, but Dr. Ma in the er was not one of them. The incompetence continued with the resident whose care I was under once admitted. Nursing staff was great, but very limited under the direction of this resident. I will never seek treatment there again.
There is a Starbucks located inside the UTMC main hospital. The staff at this Starbucks location are absolute angels. And they make awesome coffee too.
This Er department is the worst.. I took my son to the last night.. all they did was an X Ray to make sure he was not constipated. And.. said he had a viral Infection. So.. I took my son over to St. V's Hospital. My son has the same amount of pain as he went to Utmc.. and had to be given fentanyl for his pain.. Utmc didn't care about his pain or do no test. St. Vs did lab work.. he has high white blood count.. and they did a CT Scan and guess what he doesn't have no viral Infection.. he has appendicitis and it caused his appendix to ruptured. ST V'S Is doing everything to help my son.. while he could of died because, of Utmc Er.
