Outstanding Service at United Sport &Cycle!nnI can't recommend Tyler at United Sport &Cycle highly enough! He has been incredibly helpful in assisting my kids with their skating needs over the past few years. From selecting the right skaters to fixing their gear, his expertise and dedication have made all the difference.nnDuring our recent visit,Tyler took the time to understand my kids' skill levels and preferences. He offered personalized recommendations that were spot on! His knowledge about the products and the sport is impressive, and he made the whole process enjoyable for my kids.nnAdditionally, he went above and beyond by helping us fix their skaters, ensuring everything was in perfect condition. His patience and willingness to explain things made my kids feel more confident and excited about skating.nnWe are truly appreciative of all the help he has provided. Disappointing Customer Service – Took My Business Elsewhere.nnOn February 8, 2025, I visited United Sport & Cycle between 3:20 PM and 3:40 PM, planning to purchase a mid-range road bike priced at over $4.5-6.5K range. After researching online, I knew they had a few models in stock that I wanted to check out in person.nnI spent most of my visit browsing the bikes on the main floor, yet I was never offered any assistance. Despite two employees being stationed behind the bike service desk, neither made any effort to check if I needed anything or even simple acknowledgement.nnWhile the store itself is decent —offering easy parking, a good amount of options and pricing —that doesn’t make up for the lack of customer service. Buying a road bike is a significant investment, and I expected at least some level of engagement or support. Unfortunately, the indifference from staff left me feeling like my business wasn’t valued.nnI ended up taking my business elsewhere, and the service I received at both Cranky's and Revolution Cycle was a night-and-day difference compared to United Sport. Both shops were welcoming, attentive, and genuinely interested in helping me find the right bike.nnIf you're planning to make a big purchase and other local bike shops have what you're looking for, I’d highly recommend spending your dollars where you’ll receive the attention and customer service you deserve. In my case, it definitely won't be United Sport & Cycle. And in my review of other less than 5 star ratings on their Google review section shows that my experience is not uncommon.
This is hands down the best sports store in Edmonton, we have 3 very active kids who play Hockey, Basketball, Flag Football, Vball and love to ride bikes! The staff know our family by name and have always exceeded our expectations and continue to do so even after 20+ years of going to the best sports store in Edmonton! Every time I go to the store I run into many friends, fellow parents and even classmates from years past. Their customer service and knowledge is really what makes this the best shopping experience. Thank you to Barry, Kelly and the United Team for always looking after us!
My wife and I just purchased an Ebike from this establishment and am very happy with the salesman Henry, he was very experienced, knowledgeable, and friendly, what we liked most was the no pressure sales tactic. What I have found is that a lot of sales people would not disclose info, overlook what you want in a bike and just out right lie. After going to about 5 places it is refreshing to find a salesperson who is honest and straight forward. Will purchase my next bike from Henry again.
Should have edited this earlier. Got a bike 4 weeks ago. Its great. Whole thing took 30 minutes to buy and I picked it up the next day. It rides awesome and it was 50% off. I know nothing about bikes and relied entirely on the staff, who were really great the entire way through. I didn't even have to go looking for staff...they are either appropriately staffed or they are just working really hard.nnThe chain snapped really soon after I picked it up, and it was the straw on the camels back for stressors that we are all probably going through. I was right angry, brought it back, and probably looked like I wanted to fight someone. They changed the chain and upgraded it and followed up with me the next day. There really isn't anything they can do about a factory defect and it was bad timing. Its a really good store.nnOriginal post the bike has had no issues since thennCustomer service is really impeccable. Unfortunately, bought one of their bikes on sale and the chain snapped 500 meters out the door. Frame is nice, and it rode great for the 3 minutes I used it, but maybe be aware that the good price comes with the cost of everything other than the frame needing upgrading.
