My daughter recently visited Fast Trax after being referred there for their expertise in running shoes. She’s training for a half marathon and was struggling with severe blisters from her current pair, so she was hoping to find a better fit. She was torn between two options, and the staff assured her she could try one out and return it within 30 days if it didn’t work—no harm, no foul.nnShe went for a short outdoor run the next day and barely made it 5 km. Her arches were in pain, which has never been an issue for her before. Clearly, the shoes weren’t the right fit. When she returned to exchange them, she was told she couldn’t because they had been worn outdoors—something she was never informed about. Had she known, she would’ve tested them on an indoor track.nnThis lack of clear communication is unacceptable. Not only did they refuse the return, but they didn’t offer an exchange, partial credit, or even a discount on a new pair. She paid $180 for shoes she now can’t wear. A good local shop would’ve worked with her—offering a partial refund or credit and reselling the shoes at a discount. That’s how you build trust and long-term relationships with runners.nnFast Trax may look charming and well-stocked, but their customer service left a lot to be desired. I recommend sticking with stores like Running Room, where policies are transparent and trial runs are actually supported. Supporting small businesses is important—but only when they support their customers in return.nnEdit:nnYou reply that you should look at the fine print on the receipt but when your sales people are telling you that you have this policy, maybe they should be diligent and saying indoor running only, seems a little fishy that you claim you need to pay your rent and so forth, but not wanting to build any kind of customer service- Again, if your staff hadn’t said anything about your policy then that would be the consumers fault for not reading the fine print, but when you have a conversation with a staff member and weighing out the pros and cons of what shoe to pick and not knowing which one to choose, why would you read the fine print on the receipts When you are told one thing but they leave out a major detail you can make all the excuses you want, but customer service is what build the community but if you want to be detailed orientated on the fine print of the receipt and allow your staff To provide inaccurate information then that’s on you.
I had an outstanding experience here! Don spent an hour with me finding me the perfect marathon training shoe. He and David both had fantastic knowledge and were extremely helpful. I was able to run on the treadmill there in both shoes I was deciding between which is a huge bonus. I felt zero pressure and very reassured that I was making an educated choice on my purchase. Highly, highly recommend! Thank you both for the incredible service.
I've been in physio for some mobility issues and needed to look at treadmill shoes with better cushioning, and the staff were incredibly helpful! He must have brought out five or six different options and helped give me a better idea of what to look for. I ended up with the Nike Vomero that truly feel like I'm walking on a spongy, bouncy cloud! I want to sleep in them, they're so comfortable. If only they made a stiletto. Wonderful service, wonderful shoes. Plus, there was a dog in the shop and he gave me licks.
Fast Trax Run - Truly Amazing Service!nnI can't say enough good things about Fast Trax Run. The team there is incredibly knowledgeable, helpful, and genuinely passionate about running. After just one race, my new shoes completely blew out - and without any hassle, they took them back and made it right immediately.nnThat level of customer service and integrity is rare these days. Between their expertise, fair pricing, and awesome warranty support, Fast Trax will be my go-to running store for a long time. Highly recommend them to anyone serious about running!nn- Tom Beaulieu
Bought some Hokas from Fast Trax before and really liked them. Needed a new pair of wide ones, so i called and they ordered the same shoe for me. Called me a week later and i went in to pick them up. I like the shop for their knowledge on shoes and I like supporting a local business. Thanks Declan and Makita. Thanks Fast Trax!
