Ordered 2 times, place is nice and clean and the food is good. Prawn and Yam Tempura ordered were crispy but very oily. You should probably change the oil used. Chicken Karaage was ok, I have had better. It wasn't crispy, lacked tasted, just okayish. Also ordered miso soup which was good, recommended! Ordered wild sockeye salmon sushi, Cajun chicken and veggie sushi too and let me tell you veggie sushi was outstanding. Very refreshing, good filling and fresh. Loved it! Their rates are very reasonable compared to other places. Do give this place a try!

Very good yet small pieces of sushi, and very well priced. Unsure how this one has the highest reviews as Momo and Mi-Ne are much better portions and quality. However, the tempura here is amazing!Food: 4/5

We have been huge fans of Ume for years- always tremendous quality, value and hospitality. Our recent experiences, however, have left much to be desired. We have even wondered if there has been a change in ownership/management. We ordered take out a month or so ago and the chicken karaage was raw and the shashimi smelled off and was very off putting. Overall the quality of the order was inferior to what we had come to expect. These things happen though, chalk it up to a one-off. We called to let the staff know and they handled it well and issued us a credit for the order over the phone. Last night we ordered take out and to have the credit applied, and they decided to offer us a 10% discount on the order instead. This left a bad taste in our mouth, and the order itself still seemed to be inferior quality to what we have come to expect. Due to the way our raw chicken and off putting fish order was handled in the end, we will not be ordering from Ume anytime soon. I hope they are able to sort things out in the long run as we have been loyal customers for some time.

It was a busy Sat morning, but very nicely and friendly staff, sushi was superb! sashimi was very fresh! Definitely will be back! Will be our favorite sushi place in town!

We just finished eating here and I love this place. The staff are great and attentive. The sushi and udon soup were delicious. One of the best places for sushi in town. Prices are great as well.Food: 5/5

Reviews of Ume got us excited to try a new spot for take out, unfortunately it was more miss than hit. The tempura didn’t travel well and showed up soggy. This may have been an issue with their packaging decision so we were willing to look past that. The yam rolls were decent, but also missing a crunch. The tuna sashimi was fantastic, and yet, somehow, the spicy tuna rolls tasted extremely fishy, possibly even off? I’m not sure how two items from the same animal can arrive to the table in polar opposite qualities, but here we are. Saving the worst for last - the bc roll. The salmon was well done, and beyond chewy. I feel like 2 stars may have been generous from this experience considering 1/3 of the items ordered were inedible. Maybe just a bad night in their kitchen but there’s certainly much better sushi options in the Okanagan.

Great service, good food. You can tell the kitchen really works well together here, very warm and vibrant atmosphere. Bento box for 2 is a very good deal as well.

If you're looking for delicious authentic Japanese food this little place is it. Wonderful hidden gem in Kelowna.

Came for lunch the first time today! I wish I found this place sooner since living in Kelowna!! Great food and friendly staff.
