Lady side staff are extremely rude, disrespectful and unprofessional . I would not host any Fatiha here going forward due to the lack of organization and respect. Its quiet clear why the younger generation have no interest in attending events at masjid unfortunately but the behaviour from the staff make it quiet evident why that is. Please invest in training your staff how to behave ,communicate and advise. Just the basics. Bringing in old screaming ladies to control everyone is certainly not it! Do better !
I have been a dedicated member of this mosque for over eight years. During this time, I have always appreciated the welcoming atmosphere, as well as the sense of community that we share, particularly among Afghan families. However, I feel compelled to bring to your attention several issues that I believe need to be addressed in order to improve the mosque for all members of our community.nnFirstly, it’s concerning that there have been no noticeable improvements to the mosque’s interior since it first opened. The carpets, which have not been replaced or updated, remain hard and uncomfortable to stand on. I’m not sure where the funds collected from the community are being allocated, as there has been little to no visible investment in the mosque itself. The collection of funds for the parking lot renovation took years, and yet it was only recently completed. This raises questions about how resources are being used.nnAdditionally, the men’s washroom is in need of significant repairs. This issue has been discussed for years, but there has been little action. Once again, funds have been raised with the promise of improvements, but the situation remains unchanged.nnAlthough there are some excellent youth programs. which I believe are hosted by a well-educated Imam who speaks both the native language and English fluently, and gives the Friday khutbah in English, I’m very happy to see this. We need more people like him in such positions.nnThe mosque used to have comfortable seating areas, which were recently moved to a separate location without clear communication as to why. It’s discouraging that more isn’t being done to engage young people in meaningful ways and provide them with a space they can call their own within the mosque.nnFurthermore, I’ve observed that some of the mosque’s leadership, primarily elderly individuals, seem to treat the mosque as their personal domain. There is little consideration given to the community’s input or needs. Instead of focusing on the mosque’s improvement or addressing the concerns of the congregation, there seems to be an ongoing focus on personal conversations, particularly regarding politics, rather than how to better serve the mosque and its members.nnI strongly believe it is time for a change in leadership. Fresh leadership and new ideas are needed to create an environment that is more inclusive, dynamic, and supportive of the needs of the community, especially the younger generation. We have a wealth of resources, but they are not being reinvested into the mosque to make it a better and more beautiful.
Beautiful masjid that encourages the next generation of the youth to memorize the Quran and lead salah thanks to our beloved brother imam Ali and the hard work he’s put in to get the youth to where they are today. To the person who left a bad review below me, it’s disappointing to see someone using a fake account to publicly shame a mosque. A place of worship is meant to be a space of peace, community, and spiritual growth, and attacking it does not contribute to constructive dialogue. If you have a genuine concern, I encourage you to reach out directly to the board of the mosque so that they can directly address any concerns you may have. Publicly belittling a mosque only spreads negativity and does not reflect the values of Islam that we should all uphold.
Great Masjid, so much Afghanistan brothers to visit. Nice people and great place.
The environment is a bit toxic only due to the amount of fighting the boys do. I’m constantly distressed because they take the time out of our prayers and salahs. It’s a few boys that are constantly getting into fights and causing trouble for the brothers and sisters. For the sake of Allah, I won’t name them but they’re all related by blood. Please fix this common issue because masjid is a place of worship, not a fighting ring.
