Story

Trout Lake Community Centre, located near Victoria Drive just south of East 12th Avenue (earlier called Grandview Community Centre) was opened in 1963 receiving major renovations and expansion in 1977. All ages and ethnic groups are served here. Facilities on-site include an indoor skating rink, fitness centre, preschool and youth centre. Our mandate is to bring together our community to provide accessible recreational, social, educational, and cultural opportunities that promote and develop individual, family and community well being.

Mission

Our responsibilities include shaping programming, hiring instructors, raising funds, and accessing grants, developing rental policy, advocating for our parks and insuring that decisions affecting the community are made at the grass roots level. The revenue generated through programs and rentals stays in our community and is invested in activities for children, special events, facility enhancements, park programs and artist residencies among other things.

One of the best view community centre in Vancouver. It locates in the Trout Lake.nThe whole area is pretty in fall. The centre is nice and well kept. The building is pretty especial in fall. There are a rink and fitness centre. They have many art programs too.nYou can take some pretty fall pictures there.
How fortunate we are to have such an amazing community center. On this particular night, they hosted a wonderful concert for the community. From the other side of the park, the music was so clear and precise that I initially thought it was recordings. The singer's renditions were so flawless that it wasn’t until we got closer that I realized it wasn’t some sort of reverse karaoke with a live band. I would definitely recommend watching out for this big band, they are exceptional.
A well keep and nice community centre in East Vancouver. You can stroll around the lake trail in the same park too. It has a big parking lot. The nice view of the park is combined with this centre.nThis centre is pretty in fall. Many people come for the pictures in fall.nIf you enter the centre from the upper floor, you will see the fall colours out of the big window is so pretty. The outside of the entrance is so nice too.
Big, bright, and busy community centre with a great gymnasium and much more — inside and out! Lots of schedules to note for activities across all ages. The main entrance has a friendly, open design that invites you to come in and explore the amenities. Ice rink next door was built for the 2010 Winter Olympics I think. The whole facility is relatively new, clean, and well-maintained. Check it out and enjoy!
Great facility that has a range of activity rooms like a pottery studio to ice rink. I've primarily used this community center for ice hockey but there's a lot of things a always going on here. It seems like there are a lot of seniors oriented programming.
