Yummy Lobster and Shrimp Rolls!!! We loved their food so much that we visited this Restaurant twice. We had their lobster salad sandwich, Shrimp Roll, steamed oysters and crab dip. I loved all the food. But my all time favorite is shrimp roll and lobster sandwich. The lobster is very fresh and juicy. Both the rolls are cold food. If you want to eat hot you could try their hot butter lobster roll. The live lobster and boiled lobster are available to take home. It will be good for 2 to 3 days. There will be a lot of people waiting in the queue. Unlike other restaurants they won't reserve the table. If you want to eat, you must stay in line and order. Prices are similar in all the restaurants in bar harbor. But the food is totally worth it. I would definitely recommend it.
Live lobsters boiled with sea water by wood! The most fresh and tasty lobsters I ever had! Highly recommend this place! I came twice during my 2-day visit of bar harbor. Had a 2.5lbs male lobster and a lobster roll for the first time, then a 2lbs female lobster and steamed slams for the second time. Everything tasted wonderful! Oooh and also their blueberry pie is amazing! Fresh and not too sweet. Highly recommend!
Trenton Bridge Lobster Pound is a nice little spot just off the road boiling live lobsters in seawater over wood fires. It's got a quaint, no-frills vibe with a nice view of the narrows, and everything you could want in a lobster pound. You will get the Maine experience you're looking for here. I wanted to love this place, but the folks behind the counter were entirely unequipped to deal with the groups of tourists who arrived just before and after us, and it made for an unorganized and chaotic experience from start to finish. 5 stars for what I figure the experience is like on a better afternoon.
Love this place. They sell ousters too, Cadillac. I usually get the live lobster , steamers , mussels and don't forget the pie. Price is very good for such an amazing place. I hope they keep doing well and killing it with the amazing service and quality products.
An unpretentious place for the freshest lobsters you can get!The lobsters are cooked outdoor in the wood fired stoves. You sit in simple picnic tables and work your lobsters as long as you like and as messy as you like. The price is great compare to sit down places in town. It's cheaper than my local markets plus it's fresh and cooked. I would highly recommend the soft shells lobsters, but the corn, clam chowder, and oysters are so so. The owners, an older couple, are nice. You order the lobsters first and then get in line to pay. Food is ready in a few minutes. We were there on the July Fourth weekend. It was a little crowded but the line was not too bad.
Lobster Roll was fresh but overpriced compared to other options available. The location was very busy and many visitors were ordering the full lobster bake. At $14-$18 per pound that's on the high side. The crab dip was ok and served with crackers. Parking is very limited so be patient. Plenty of seating available under the side tent. They will ship lobster but costs are ridiculously high. We found an alt location with fresh lobster and better pricing overall to eat and ship. Staff was very friendly.
8/10/2022 Decided to stop here for steamed clams. They are so clean and not gritty at all! Plump and ready to be eaten!! I chose butter with mine and washed it down with a beer! See photos below! I’ll definitely be stopping here again for lobster before I leave town!! 8/8/2022 stopped here for lunch! Saw this place on a travel video. I ordered the clam chowder, lobster, blueberry pie, and a tea. This is a family owned business so I’m all about supporting these types of establishments! The clam chowder was good, not as good as Cape Cod. It was $9 for a cup and I would of liked more clams in it. I received my chowder, pie, and drink first and had to wait on my lobster to cook. They open an ice box type container and show you all the live lobsters and let you choose what size you want. They boil it in sea water which definitely adds the needed salty flavor. The lobster was delicious! Can’t really screw up a lobster. They do charge $1.34 for the butter but if you think about it imagine all the thousands of lobsters that need butter so it’s a cost thing, so understandable! Why not make an extra buck if you can!! I enjoyed eating here and recommend stopping here for a yummy lobster!!! Plenty of seating!
Do not order their Claim chowder-$9.95 per cup, it has only potatoes and cream, not seem visible clams…it’s a joke. Do not order their dinner set- $7.50 it has small potatoes salad, coleslaw and two dinner rolls..again..see picture for your own judgement. DO order their lobster, it’s really juicy and fresh, its 1 3/4 lb $22 which is reasonable. The staffs are very friendly.
Had our first dining experience here of the 5 day trip in Acadia. Loved the lobster roll, lobster stew and clam chowder which was the freshest and pleasant version I have ever tasted. Watched the spectacle of living lobsters dancing in front of diners, and craved for the whole lobster bake which I didn’t have the dare to finish alone…
First time back in Trenton Bridge lobster joint after 9 years, not much as changes except for the price. For $18.95/lb Maine lobster, that sounds pricey to me. In Boston, I’m used to prices of 3/$45 1-1.25 lobsters. A bowl of clam chowder for $16.75 seems outrageous, and more disappointing is the soup. I’m not sure if clam chowder has a non-creamy version, but this joint’s clam chowder is certainly not the ones I tasted before. See video upload. Overall, nothing impressive about the lobster joint, except instagram-friendly vs other lobster joints. Staff is friendly, but looks like it may price itself out of competition in the long term. Final verdict, if you are on a budget, there are plenty of other lobster shops in Maine which will most likely taste the same if not better.
