The food was above par, absolutely spectacular. Our server Kristen is the best. She has been the only server we have had, coincidently, when dining here and she is a master of her craft! So kind, so knowledgeable of the menu. Quite honestly one of the big reasons we return. Love the food, love Kristen. Can’t wait for our next visit!
The food was very very good, and our server was great, but I was extremely disappointed and confused with one aspect of it. I got the Polpette meatballs, which came on a bed of delicious red sauce and absolutely covered in cheese. Great combination, great ratios. I couldn't finish and an employee offered to box the remainder for me. I was given back nothing but the single dry meatball, which seemed to have had all the sauce and cheese intentionally scraped off : No complaints about the food but I have no idea what the employee who did that was thinking
Trattoria Sbandati has a cozy, upscale vibe with an open view into the kitchen. The menu is highly opinionated no substitutions please, a sign of a head chef with knowledge and confidence. The dishes are authentic. Divided into courses, you should look forward to enjoying multiple plates. Even something as simple as sauteed spinach is amazing here. Take your time and enjoy the various flavors. You won't be disappointed here.
Very authentic and delicious food, the servers were fast, attentive and friendly. Would definitely recommend
Mama Mia! Sbandati is so F’n good at making real Italian cuisine. Seeing the same faces working there for years tells you so much about the health and wellness of a business. Besides the homemade pasta that is always cooked perfectly, the sides are always phenomenal. Specials range from amazing wild mushroom pastas for vegetarian options, to seasonal soups. What they can do with bread is truly mind blowing. Nothing like it. In a town that prides itself on small glasses and petite pours the cocktails are delicious and generous. Be patient and don’t be a jerk. This is a special place, bring your appetite for the best pasta in town and leave your belt at home!
Last night my husband and I with our friends came trattoria Sbandati for dinner, 1st time!! We did not have a good experience, from the way we’re greeted the food and how our server was! Rather than, welcoming & asking us, How it should of gone was “ Welcome to trattoria Sbandati is this you first time? Whats the name under your reservation? our greeter says in a anticipated tone in her voice, ready to kick us out! Thinking all ready that we don’t have a reservation, She’s say “hi,,,,, DO YOU HAVE A RESERVATION????” Wow is this how they greet they’re customers? “OK WHATS THE NAME??” Now I enlarged the letters because how do you write facial expressions and rude tone in here voice? Now our server where do we begin? Ok Hi no name over worked tired and trying not to be cranky!!! She did memorize the specials but gave us our menus and said she’ll be right back She came back and said, What can I get you to drink? I proceeded to tell her that this was our first time here, that the 4 of us want to experience a little bit of everything. I asked her, “ how big were the portions? She said that they were entre size that we could do family style. Ok, was happy about that The food: Wasn’t really impressed we had the antipasto for starter good portion, but the presentation was thrown together on a sharqutori board, with wilted lettuce. The bread was toasted fingerlings. Mediocre & the meats were over greased like they were old. Then we finished with 3 first course & one 2d course. Disappointing to wrap up this review quickly the sauces were Jared or can tasting and 2 of the pastas were mushy and the other, penne pasta wasn’t cooked all the way. The polpette meat balls were covered in sauce & cheese to hide the fact that it wasn’t cooked all the way, and way too much dried bread crumbs, dry…. The spinach was way tooo salty and I pointed out to my server. Her response,!!! Oh ……. …………. She was more concerned about clearing our table and getting us on our way So in closing, we were all very disappointed underwhelmed and a little shocked! We read the eloquent website and menu and all of us were expecting more of a 4.5 to 5 star experience. Instead, it felt like 1.5 to 2 star experience especially for these prices, and the website presentation Too bad too sad I guess it’s safe to say that none of us will ever return Hopefully you will not have the same experience Thank you
Our first visit to Sbandati was on a busy Friday night. It’s a very small space, but comfortable once you get past the crowded seating at the front. The food is exquisite, with the richest bolognese I have ever had. Similarly, the night’s filet mignon special was perfectly prepared. The wait staff were all polite and seemed relaxed. We have a new favorite restaurant in Bend.
A fair amount to say here. I enjoyed the location and atmosphere. Everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves, and it was a full house. I made a reservation a few days prior through Resy. The Italian food was pretty authentic and quite delicious. The staff was friendly and attentive enough, though seemed to want to get us in and out to the point where there was a bit of a rushed feeling. We were seated quickly despite how busy things were on a Saturday evening. We did have one issue. I ordered Polpette for my 2nd course. It never come, we received the slip, and the Polpette was charged to us despite it never coming. I let the wait staff know this, and she offered to get it to me or take it off the bill, so it was rectified, but could have been a costly oversight had I not been paying attention to the slip. If I do go back, the food will be the primary reason. The service, while not bad, was a bit rushed, and given the premium cost for the dinner, it's hard to overlook missing the 2nd course and charging me for it, despite their menu specifically being constructed to have a 2nd course section.
I can't believe it's taken me this long to write a review! Amazing!! trattoria sbandati opened so I could have my elopement/small wedding dinner there. The food was delicious, the staff was wonderful and we had an absolutely beautiful evening
Best kept secret in Bend! Stopped here for a glass of wine. The wine was great, reasonably priced, and the staff were all incredible! Thank you ladies for such a great experience! Photos of the drink menu attached!
