Tranquility Dental Wellness Center - Tacoma

It of course appeals to aesthetics looking like a spa and offering a comfort menu of choices such as a paraffin hand wax and heated massage chair, but I really appreciate their educational approach. I've never known so much about my teeth or oral health. Very friendly and warm. Sometimes I wish I had more time to wait in the relaxing waiting area enjoying my complimentary coffee, but they're always so prompt! I can't imagine what else someone would expect from a dentist. If this doesn't merit five stars, I have no idea what does.

The entire team at Tranquility Dental on Pt. Ruston is fantastic! I have needed to get quite a bit of work done and everyone has been great. Princess at the front takes good care from start to finish, Windie assists the Doctor with great care and Dr. McCoy has taken the best care of my mouth! And where else can I listen to Pandora on noise cancelling headphones while the drill is in my mouth?!

I was very impressed by the staff and the complimentary services offered during my exam and cleaning. The online form was very easy to complete. Thanks to Alexa and Princess for such professionalism and great customer service.

*WARNING* I went here on 10/17/2017 and saw Dr. Sonja McCoy, was told I had 8 cavities, mind you, I have always had good healthy teeth without any issues my entire life. I was in complete shock when I was told this, not to mention just had a bad feeling about all of this. I don't think a normal question to a patient is "if you were to have cavities would you get them taken care of?" Or when you ask the dentist for further explanation she can't even tell you where the cavities were. I immediately left and called for a second opinion from my last dentist (knowing I would have to pay out of pocket for another exam). I was told I have zero cavities (which is no surprise)! The fact that this place is trying to rip people off is absolutely disturbing to me. This is dealing with someone's tooth health..that would be 8 teeth that would never be the same again. I would definitely think twice before you decide to come to this establishment. Sure all the extra goodness they offer sounds amazing, but I would rather have a dentist who is truthful and has my best interest at stake.

Updated review: Although my actual experience here was great, I am VERY alarmed by the treatment recommendations. The dentist recommended that I get fillings for NINE cavities, including some on my front teeth. This seemed troubling to me since I had only been to the dentist 10 months prior and it was a stellar dentist who just stopped taking my insurance. I made an appointment for a second opinion by a very renowned dentist in the area and low and behold, I didn't need ANY fillings. Not a single one. All my teeth are healthy. I can't believe I almost let these people drill into my front teeth!!! YIKES. Please please beware.
