My son attended summer camp here and I’m absolutely disappointed. At the beginning I thought private school with IB program should provide a better Montessori environment for my son but that’s not the case.nnThe first day when I drop off my son, I saw other kids crying without any teacher trying to sooth them, just let them cry. The next day when I pick up my son, his shirt was half soaked. He’s definitely having a hard time adjusting to this school, compared to his regular Montessori where he has no problem at all.nnOverall, I’m just disappointed at what I saw on their open house isn’t what I expected to see for summer camp. I decided to drop my son out of the school year even though I already paid the tuition and everything that can’t be refunded.
My daughter is excited about school! I am leaving this review out here for interested parents:nnCurriculum: The curriculum is rich and the children learn a lot - Maths, Geography, Science…I am impressed that French is even included. I was pleasantly surprised when we got her report card after her first term there!nnCare: I found that the teachers and the vice principals really care about my daughter. They learnt to pronounce her name correctly too which is impressive. I usually see the vice principals making class rounds in a kind, professional manner and this is quite comforting. We immigrated from a warmer climate and her teachers do their very best in keeping my daughter warm so she never catches a cold. The fact that I can call the school to speak with her teachers and check on my daughter from time to time is also a huge plus for me being a first-time Mum.nnSocial Skills: Ever since my daughter started attending Town Centre, we have witnessed a dramatic boost in her confidence and interactive skills…simply phenomenal! She also speaks well and politely too.nnAfter-School Activities: I found the after school activities age -appropriate for my daughter. Sports with Jay gets her moving and excited… as you can imagine.nnGym Facilities: During inclement weather, my daughter gets to play at one of the 4 or so gyms they have on-site. For an elementary school, I found the gyms large enough for uninhibited play!nnFood: We subscribed to Kids Kitchen as prescribed by the school. At first, I was worried she might not enjoy the meals but upon seeing the meal package, I noticed they have a variety of food items fruits inclusive. I no longer worry about the food and I always include some snacks in her bag for after - school.nnI am indeed grateful to the School Management, the teachers and all members of staff for putting so much thought into making Town Centre a great Elementary School.nnSo, if you are out there wondering where to send your toddler, I highly recommend Town Centre Private School!
Toxic management. They suck out confidence from both the parent and child. They lack the passion and dedication needed to educate and nurture kids. Absolute waste of money as there are far better schools around.
Where do I really begin? Working here was disgusting!nnThere are no qualified Montessori educators in the childcare sector! They may have about 2 or 3 teachers that are Montessori, and the rest of the head teachers are just e.c.e educators. For a PRIVATE SCHOOL ... lol .. It's definitely not a private school. The children in the childcare they don't actually do Montessori materials like they should be its rare that the teachers even teach them the activities. They have just toddler and Casa programs. However, the casa classes should be doing Montessori, but they don't daily.nnAlso, some of the educators are not as caring as others, unfortunately.nnThis place is all about business if they truly cared about the children then when it's outdoor and the children are in the yard why is it the only thing you'll see is grass from spring to fall and snow or wet in the winter times. They have nothing, and the so-called playground is garbage its nothing I rather take my children to the park. The so-called play structure is not a playground. It needs to be revamped!nnWhat kind of a place allows children to take their coats off in the winter in high snow and sadly say that it's not their problem the child won't listen ? I would not want to bring my children if that's the way they do their business!nnAlso the staff especially are very, very toxic. Management is poor they have 3 viceprincipals and never on the same page. Do you trust your kids to come here? Think twice !nnI wouldn't waste time or money on this place. All the montessori materials are very old chipping off paints.. etc.. and not yet replaced!
My daughter attended the summer program. Kids watched screen during lunch time !! No matter if it was summer camp screen at lunch time isn’t justified at all . My daughter insisted on watching Tv at home at meal times too . Private school following Montessori n IB curriculum can’t be relying on screen or showing movie during school / camp timenWasn’t impressed with the school at all
