The zoo is really nice. I like the atmosphere and the husbandry methods. It is amazing and you should spend half of a day, if you wanna visit all the animals. African part is the best part of the zoo. Hippos are really lovely and giraffes are amazing.
Had a fabulous time! So hard to choose a favourite area. It was so well laid out and really a great time. We had fantastic weather, which of course helped, but there's a lot of indoor exhibits, so if it rained we would have been fine too. Oh and we rented a stroller, which was a great idea! And the gift shop was not overpriced and had really nice items.
It is always a great experience to take my kids to visit the zoo, whether in summer, fall or even winter. Very entertaining, educational and informative for everyone! The new addition of the arctic wolf, young and playful cheetahs and a small waterfall show you how the zoo is still working hard to attract visitors while we all miss the elephants and giant pandas.
The Toronto Zoo is a awesome family experience. This was our first time at the Toronto Zoo and we loved it. Besides the great exhibition... seeing my son so happy and enjoying, it makes it just wonderful and priceless. Everything is great and we'll maintained. We learned a lot as well. Lots of walking so come prepared with a good stroller if needed, comfy shoes and lots of liquids/refreshments. They do have lots of vending points with great options. Unfortunately I didn't catch her name, but I went for an adult refreshment, and the lady assisting there was super polite, friendly and helpful.... besides funny, she made an awesome joke of my beer selection. Kudos to her and for having so wonderful staff. Fully recommended and is a must family experience
Ensure to have an entire day free & if possible get in early to stroll around all the regions of the zoo. Ample parking space and charges are additional to the ticket. It's a good place for children to enjoy their time as well as learn about animals from various geographical areas. Stroller accessible, also has rentals available. Clean washrooms in America's and has food joints as well as picnic spots every few meters. They have a wide variety of animals in the Eurasia & Canadian domain, but others just had a few of them. Huge space, could have been used more effectively.
The best Zoo I’ve ever been to. It took us almost 6 hours to see it all but we really took our time trying to see/read everything. Everything is very clean and you can bring your own food if you choose to. The animals are beautiful and seem to be very well taken care of. A wonderful place to visit for families.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYes
Overall the place is Okay. There is a lot to walk , but zoo-mobile, zoo bus/ train, would be a preferred choice to ride unless, you really want walk all that 10km + area. Though there are many kind, I feel the number of animals are not much as I expected. I would say Prepare and come for a picnic+zoo experience instead of a high expectation over the zoo alone. The animals and nature are well maintained.
I give three stars with a heavy heart. The animals are amazing and the conditions they live in are great. But, the zoo is not so visitors friendly and that's why: 1. The zoo space is huge. We walked 90% of the 5 hours we spent in the zoo. We walked about 10 kilometers which is insane. Especially when you are not prepared for this much walking. I believe the zoo should make it very very clear before you buy the tickets + the zoo should provide shuttles between the areas. Only in the end, I realized there was an option to purchase a ticket for a bus tour but that's extra 9 dollars for each person and I do not know if this is for each area separately or all of them. 2. Many animals were not on the display because of seasonal conditions or diseases bird flu or renovations etc. 3. On weekdays most stores are closed and between the areas sometimes you need a break and something to drink/eat there wasn't always something available. 4. Since the cages are very large, sometimes the animals stay in a place that is very difficult to see them. Most cages, though, have more than a single angle to watch the animals, probably to overcome this issue. In conclusion, we didn't enjoy visiting this zoo, though, we do appreciate very very much the work done with the animals to keep them safe, healthy, and comfortable. We do advise visitors to prepare in advance for this experience regarding long walking, bring a hat, and water, and ask about options of transport and animals that are not on show. Also, order tickets online to save the lines of purchasing tickets.
Great Zoo, wide variety of animals and sites to visit. Lots to do and to see. Highly recommended if you're visiting Toronto just make sure you planned a full day and show up early. Just wish they had some sort of hotel or simply rooms on site so you can take your time visit and that would of been a wonderful addition. Aside from that, the place is clean and the animals are well kept and maintained. Loved it and definitely will go back
Love the zoo, great place to explore and see all the beautiful animals they have, my favourites are the giraffes. There’s lots to do, my children also loved the zoo mobile that takes you from one zone to another, the zip line, the Gorilla Climb Ropes Course, and the Carousel. All these are not included in the general admission price, but I highly recommend them. However, even a tour around the zoo is lots of fun and will have children smiling
