Toro Japanese & Chinese Cuisine

Stopped in for a late lunch after an appointment in Newtown. Really pretty restaurant with a cozy feel. Friendly greeting and friendly attentive service. I had the steamed vegetarian dumplings. So refreshing... they actually make their own dumpling wrappers! Ordered the green jade for my entree... snow peas, beans, broccoli. Very good. Will definitely return with friends.

Toro is one of the few Chinese food places I'll eat at. Their food is above and beyond the usual Chinese places you'll see. The resteraunt is beautiful and cozy, great for a dinner date. They have a wide selection of dishes and sushi. There's hibachi upstairs too. Their takeout is just as good as being there (minus the atmosphere of course). It's right in the center of town so it's easy to get to. Definitely would recommend.

Enjoyed a fun night of hibachi at Toro last night. The reason for writing this review is because I was really impressed by their handling of multiple food restrictions of 3 of the diners.We had a shellfish allergy, dairy (butter) allergy, and I am gluten free. They did it with ease and we weren't made to feel like a hassle. They made mine in the kitchen with GF soy sauce and even substituted rice noodles for the lo-mein noodles that are usually served. Thank you Toro.
