Been there once after the old chef left for another Chinese restaurant . and the new chef who actually runs the place is incompetent at the best . Everything is taste less for a guy loves spicy food. and cash only? come on, is that even legal in BC ? I don't know about that . but I ain't gonna go back.
They have completely changed their menu to hot pot and a few dim sum items only. It still tastes great, but it took almost an hour for the food to come. It wasn't that busy so it seemed an excessive wait for a Thursday night. We probably won't go back unless we aren't hungry to begin with.
It seemed like a great spot when I drove past in the evening. I made a mental note to have lunch there the next day. I was quite disappointed to see the 'cash only' note on the door. It is challenging to accept that concept at a supposed legitimate business?
The eggplant with ground pork is a killer dish. One of my favourites from PRC and they put a less saucy but delicious spin to it. I forget the soup we had but it was also good. Price was a tad high but for that location you can't expect dirt cheap food.
