Delicious Indian restaurant in the Humber Bay area. Modern and very clean on the inside. They have delicious garlic and butter naans, butter chicken, and spicy vindaloo dishes. Great spot in the area to hit your Indian cravings!
If you like a good hot chicken vindaloo this place might be for you. Very tasty food, helpful service, maybe a bit slow but that’s ok. It is the first Indian restaurant I have been to that has no samosas but there were plenty of other tasty things and of course, Kingfisher beer. The prices are a little high but I guess they are trying to be upscale. I have to say while it is tasty I’m not sure it’s THAT tasty. Anyway it was a good dinner and a fun night out.
Awesome food and service. This is now my favourite restaurant! Lots of Vegan options. The staff are super friendly. I felt like I was at home. Best spiced food in the gta, by far! Love this place.
Fantastic Indian cuisine.outstanding service and knowledgeable, informed and accommodating. Food very tasty and satisfying. Perfect place to bring someone. Great and affordable . perfect to dine alone too.
Mostly style but not a lot of substance. The chicken appetizer was good but that’s about it. The chicken tikka masala and the paneer lababdar entrees didn’t pack as much of a flavor punch as one would expect. Naan and rice was good but the two main entrees were a bit disappointing. Maybe I should’ve asked for spicy food to amp up the flavours.
My husband and I are staying in Etobicoke Lakeshore area for the month. Having narrowed down several restaurants to visit during this time, based on reviews, we decided to visit Tich on a special occasion my husband’s birthday. We requested for the house red wine restaurant owner Sunil rightly suggested the 8oz helping, chicken Kadhai with two breads naan and laccha paratha and for an overkill, a lamb biryani too. Born and raised in India, I have had reservations about finding decent Indian cuisine in Toronto, but I have to say that Tich came very close to what we have been used to eating in Mumbai, India. The flavours, the atypical ambience, and the vibe overall suggests that this place can be enjoyed by people of various palates. The icing on the cake was a slice of cake for my husband with a lively candle - which made him happy. Thank you, again :- We really enjoyed our evening there and hope to visit again soon.
I went for dinner and I must say that it was phenomenal. The waiter we had was extremely friendly and helpful, and walked us through our confusion with the menu. We ended up ordering a lot, but I got the chicken pakoras, tandoori chicken, a mango lassi and as a table we got butter naan, garlic naan and saffron rice. The pakoras are delicious, well spiced and come with a delectable sauce that I could not stop eating. I took a picture of them, and they came with this little salad as did the tandoori chicken. The salad had me in awe, don't just dismiss it as some kind of side garnish. It has this mango dressing on top that is also quite spicy and it's like nothing I've ever had before. One of the best salads I've ever had. The tandoori chicken was also delicious, though a little less exciting than the pakoras. They were delicious and well marinated, but I found them to be a bit too spicy for me, so if you're overly sensitive to heat then watch out. The naan was absolutely delicious, warm and easy to rip. Garlic naan was also good but I couldn't really taste the garlic. Still was a great naan though. The mango lassi was thick and sweet, and had just the right amount of tartness to make the perfect lassi. My only complaint is that the portion is too small as seen in the blurry photo. The restaurant is kind of small and narrow, but has a gorgeous interior and a comforting atmosphere. The size is more than made up for by the absolutely inviting and kind staff and the delicious food. We will definitely be returning, it's worth the journey.
EDIT: Paired down current menu is a new low. Many favourites gone, little variety. Very poor service. Indilicious and Aanch are way better now, and there was a time when Tich was streets ahead. Used to be phenomenal. Now it's hit and miss at best and nothing is nearly as good as it was. They're cutting corners: appetizer portions are smaller, less saffron in the rice, etc. They didn't miss a beat when their head chef went to start Indilicious, but it now seems as though they've lost whomever replaced him too and an amateur is running the place. The naan is fantastic, but a small portion. The saffron rice is okay but lacking its namesake ingredient. Hara Mirch was the best in the city by a large margin. Unless they decide to burn it, in which case it's incredibly dry and no longer edible. See photo. Maybe that's why they took it off the menu altogether. For curries... Butter chicken is fine but unremarkable. Chicken Tikka Masala is very good, so is the Korma and Lamb Buna. Karahi is definitely worth getting too. Madras is good, but a tier down. Dak Bungalow is poor. Cafreal is better, but not worth ordering. Goan seafood curry is amazing, but the overpriced given the seafood portion included. The lamb shank, lamb chops, and tandoori shrimp were terrific. Too bad they've been replaced on the menu by... Butter Chicken Poutine. Yep. Dessert... is still Indian. Don't get the kulfi unless you like rosewater, it's much more heavily perfumed than at other places like Madras Masala.
We went here for our anniversary back in November. The food was delicious and the servers went above and beyond.
April 14th: Not our first time ordering from Tich but may be the last. Ordered the dal makhni and 4 naans. The dal was watered down and the naans were not fresh! They were super doughy and definitely packaged naans and terrible ones at that. Don't charge $2.50 per naan if it's not going to be fresh. Not impressed at all.
