Newly opened restaurant close to McGill university serves delicious Italian food and has really nice decoration. Great place for a date night or catching up with a friend over some comfort food. We chose Tiamo restaurant in Montreal to celebrate a friend's birthday. A reservation was carefully made two weeks in advance for a party of 10. However, upon arrival, we were seated on the second floor in a corner with a table that could only accommodate 8 people, despite our confirmed reservation. We informed our server, who was understanding and asked how we'd like to rearrange the tables. As we began to do so, two managers approached us in a very agitated manner, displaying a lack of respect. Our server managed to calm the situation and assured us that everything would be sorted. However, the initial attitude of the managers had already marred a part of our experience. Furthermore, it took a considerable amount of time for our food to be served, adding to our frustration. The quality of the food was decent but didn't justify the high price and the extended wait. We arrived at 8:30 PM and left the restaurant close to midnight, an unexpectedly long duration for a meal. Overall, our experience at Tiamo restaurant was tainted by disappointing hospitality and extensive wait times, even though the food quality was acceptable.
Beautiful restaurant! The atmosphere and ambience is wonderful. As well, the food and service is top tier. We absolutely loved the grilled octopus, cinque formaggi and prosciutto pizza. As well, the desserts and drinks were amazing too. Side note: the pizzas are large in size and perfect for sharing. We ordered too much and they gave us a cute pizza box to go. It was great even the next day though so definitely worth it Can’t wait to go back
We booked this place as there were good reviews. The food was really nice but the service was mediocre. The place was too noisy and the space was too tight. I don’t really understand why they would put tables too close with other ones. We asked our server to change our table but they told us all tables were booked already. However there were empty tables until we finished eating. It also took so long for them to bring our bills. Overall the food is good but other than that I would give a 3 star!
The food was great! The beef ragu pasta is so good! Nice portions for a good price, and the desserts we're fantastic. One of the best cannolis I've had! We had the pleasure to meet and speak with the chef, and he's incredibly nice. I highly recommend this restaurant!Food: 5/5
Came here to celebrate my 27th birthday and was not disappointed. The atmosphere is great, the decor is beautiful. Staff were attentive, professional and friendly. The food was excellent and I highly recommend the vendetta cocktail.
Visited this Italian gem with friends and was instantly captivated by the atmosphere. Started with a fresh and delectable burrata, though was slightly taken aback when informed the accompanying bread was an extra $5. However, the quality of the burrata made up for it. For the main, I opted for the 'Pizza Burrata' made in a traditional 'four à bois'. It was flavorful, well-balanced, and undoubtedly a recommendation. Ended the meal with cannolis infused with pistachio and chocolate - a delightful first for me and absolutely worth the praise. Throughout our meal, the attentive service stood out. My glass was never left empty, and the staff's warmth added to the experience. Despite the small hiccup with the bread charge, this restaurant offers a commendable dining experience. Would definitely recommend! More like a 4.5/5
My friend and I had the perfect night out at Tiamo. We were lucky enough to come without a reservation and get a table. The service was awesome, bartender and general manager were extremely friendly. We had some annoying dietary restrictions and they were very accommodating. I had heard of this place through my friend on TikTok and sometimes while these places are cute the food isn’t the best. Everything I tried was amazing from the fettuccini to the meatballs as an appetizer my friend tried. We got passion fruit and tequila drinks as well.
Had an awesome experience tonight at Tiamo, the food was excellent, the service aswell; i dont think my glass of water was emptied for more then 10 seconds always someone to refill, its rare to see. The vibe and the look of the place was top notch aswell. Id reccomand the fettucine and the tiramisu. My only complaint : the burata even tho it was good didnt come with bread, we had to pay extra for each bucket of bread after the first one.
First of all, food was good we had the octopus as an entree, the rigatoni pasta and the filet mignon. The filet is 6oz for like 46$ and they say it’s filling but there’s a bit of mashed potatoes and some vegetables. The pasta was good and filling. They sat us in the alley by the kitchen. If you get these seats : do not eat there. It’s the worst seats. There’s so much back and forth to the kitchen and upstairs that at some point people were stopping to talk next to our table and the girls hair was in my water. The owner of the restaurant should know that these seats are horrible. You have a kitchen staff yelling the orders to the kitchen workers every 5 seconds. I’m not sure what vibe they are going for but I feel like that could be automated. Waiters were trying their best some of them you could tell they were new but they were never disrespectful and that’s what matters. The service was a bit slow. We got our entre, finished it and they picked it up before we got our drinks that we ordered. Biggest tip : Just don’t sit by the kitchen photo inserted below of the seats
