VERY kind staff plus its clean and has good food. I would give this place 5 stars but the only issue is that the wait time is HORRID! You'll be waiting from around 1-10 hours. Ive been waiting for 9 hours without even seeing a doctor. I cant tell if they're understaffed or a lack or organization but this is a big problem; there shouldn't be people in pain or dangerously ill sitting in the waiting room for hours.
The hospital is good quick service however the EMERGENCY is worst . Patient have to wait hours before they can see a nurse practitioner. Nobody should be in pain and should asked to wait for hours. Personally I have to wait for 2 hours before I could be called in and after that 4 more hours to get an update and go home.I do feel for the staff as they must be overwhelmed but management should hire more people for services can be faster. More funding to expand the emergency departments would help.
I have no idea who would rate this hospital 5 stars. Me and my daughter waited from 4:30 in the afternoon until after midnight in emergency to see a doctor. At 10 I was told she was next, same at 11. I was physically upset by 12 am and we got in. By the time we got out it was 3:30 in the morning! 11 hours! That is utterly ludicrous. A formal complaint takes 45 days to process. This hospital will kill someone before they get anything done in a timely manner. Super unimpressed.
Been waiting 6 hours with bad asthma watching them take everyone that came in after me. Probly like 75 people get to go in front of me and i cant breath. But im not important i guess i just cant breath
Blown out bicep have waited 6 days for surgery that they keep pushing back. No scans, just xray. We've been told it's his shoulder and elbow and have had to correct them many times that its the bicep. Day surgery at the TBRHSC is ridiculous. They need to adapt a better system. You can't make people go 6 days all day without eating or drinking only to have it canceled again. Now we've sat in the back waiting to go to the OR for almost 3 hours. Soemthing should be done to make this process smoother and easier for all involved.
I felt I was being treated as royalty. Everything I could possibly ask for was there for me, my call bell was answered quickly, the nurses checked in frequently, the doctors followed up and explained what was going on in my body. The nurses all were cheerful and friendly. When I lost a piece of my equipment, it seemed like everyone was on the lookout for it. I'm sure glad I was able to come here when I needed the attention. I was here during Nurses Week. I'm glad they made it a week rather than just a Nurses Day!
Waited 6 hours in waiting area finally get into back wait an hour someone comes in and takes my blood. RN and bloodwork are great but god I'm waiting 3+ hours to see a Dr I'd like to know what's going on if they will be doing more tests or if I'm waiting to hear I can go ... What's wrong with me something would be nice. Still waiting now for results 10 am next day and find out the lady next to me in the hall tested positive for covid ... No alarm she's still in the hall
They always treat me very well. You have to show respect to get respect. I think people forget this sometimes. Odd time you can get a flounder. Most cases I find them excellent.
I was treated with the upmost respect I was looked after while a patient in Thunder Bay Regional my needs were met the doctors explained everything during the time I had to be isolated anything I wanted they brought to me within reason I mean whatever they had available whether it was the peach juice I constantly would drink or snacks of toast etc.
Horrible emergency department. Very long wait times. Everyone in ER had a negative and rude attitude. If you hate your job and the people you serve so much, quit and go work elsewhere!!!
