Great place along the Saint-Laurent river. The water is beautiful in this area. There are small shops near by and even a small beach. Had a great day enjoying the river and the nice weather. There isn't plenty to do, but it's nice to see the boats and relax. It's free, but have a small cash donation prepared. I always only have plastic.
While I can't speak for the boat museum, they have a great little cafe with some indoor/outdoor comfortable lounge seating overlooking the docks. The girls working were sweet and helpful. Perfect for a relaxing coffee stop!!
Came here for live entertainment on Friday night and had a blast. All the staff is wonderful, helpful and kind. Great view of the St. Lawrence river, right beside the Gananoque boat line. One of my favorite spots for a beer. Unfortunately no food only snacks but can get a pizza right across the street at the ' Purple House'. Coffee and cold non alcoholic drinks available as well.
Jake, Andrea and Terry, the canoe experts, were really awesome. The girls at the reception were very courteous, our actual scheduled trip was at 0300pm, but because of some change in plans, we had to request for an earlier time...the girls sorry didn't ask their names at the reception bumped us up. Will definitely recommend the canoeing trip which is about 45 minutes to an hour.
Visited the museum on day 2 of our trip. Very cool to see many of the older style boats that helped to shape the region. Kids had a great time making their own "boat" in the workshop!
With the rich history that lies in this place, the 1000 Islands Boat Museum has kept it all together for generations to come to relish and admire the history and charm of the old age ports. It is small, but well-kept and maintained. One of the must-visit location when you plan a 1000 islands boat ride.
The TI Boat Museum does not open until the May long weekend, but we were lucky enough to enjoy a tour before the official opening for the season. The Museum consists of three buildings - a workshop where wooden boats are built and you can chat with a builder! A Childrens play place - dress up and pirate fun downstairs and upstairs is a really cool merchant ship recreation - Mike and I had fun playing up there! The last building stores multiple wooden boats, and upstairs there is an Otentik recreation, a dining table built around a wooden boat for functions next to a stage, and a cottage bedroom, kitchen and living room completely furnished with donations from a 1000 Islands cottage. This level really brings together the image of the waterfront lifestyle. #lifeontheriver
Love taking my daughter here every year, the boat rides are amazing. Seeing the boats as well as the history is nice too.
Very unorganized, social media out of date, young girls in cafe were great, some older staff were rude
Went to the cafe, best Iced coffee I’ve ever had, great service from Kylie, super friendly, she deserves a raise!
