Love this place the owner is very friendly and helpful. I've had breakfast and lunch here and loved it. The grilled veggie sandwich I had was to die for and was so, so big. A big yes this is a great place food tasted so yummy.
Went for my first time, the lady was rude and impatient. However the guy was nice and friendly. Asked for Decaf coffee and she told me they didn't have any. Then when i asked about the menu she did a terrible job of explaining it to me so i just went for the pancakes. No chocolate chip or blueberry options. Expected amazing things from this place as it does have a really nice atmosphere. Dissappointed.
Located right beside the go bus n bus terminal. I went there because it is own by two elderly couple. I often go buy from small private own business than big franchise. Coffee here is good n I order a western sandwiches with brown toast. Took a little while to finished but is really fresh n good.i enjoy it. Off course decoration of the place are plain n simple .
Lol, this place charges $2.40 for a large coffee. Not only does this fail to compete with Tim's and Starbucks in terms of pricing, but then they also add another 25 cents on top if you need to use debit. The guy is rude. The woman seems nice enough. I told them to keep their overpriced coffee and to shove it. Just walk one block south to Starbucks and you'll get a better coffee for a better price. Hipster d-bags will LOVE this place for their use of the word 'shoppe' though.
Don’t waste your time here unless you know what you are ordering. My girlfriend and I went to order bagels and the very rude man asked what bagels? and we asked what bagels did he have, he muttered under his breath and looked away while he was saying the kinds. I kindly asked do you have a list and he sounded aggressive saying what list! I just told you! So my girlfriend and I turned to leave and then he tried t shout telling us he had the menu for us to look at. We just left. Have more respect for people who come in, if someone has never been there before they don’t know what you have. If you don’t like your job quit. Or better yet retire. Grumpy old man.
I have been visiting this place for over 20 years. Best coffee best pasta best people! A particular delight of mine is Magda's turkey dinners at Thanksgiving and Christmas. They are fabulous meals! The key ingredient is there love for people to enjoy their food.
This shoppe is so amazing! I visit everyday being as I work right downtown its beyond convenient. The couple that owns this little spot are super friendly and sweet. The place has a homey feel and I can so appreciate the HOMECOOKED goodness that they serve as well as the prices. EVERYTHING in the store is made FROM scratch and I guarantee they have no racial issues as I am a Black woman and we get along just great! I would recommend all of the negative comments listed from a year ago or maybe more to maybe give it another chance; people change and quiet possibly im sure you can have a better experience than your previous. Check out this place , amazing quality food , amazing portions and amazing prices. Signed a 100% satisfied customer
Everyone here saying they have great food, they sell breakfast and wraps and soup. That’s it. It’s the most mainstream food that is simple to make, in fact there soup taste like water so it’s nothing special to say the least. Very rude, In my opinion they discriminate and are racist. Asked a question and the lady made me feel like an idiot and refused to serve me. I am i young white 18 year old teenage girl who where’s makeup, maybe intimidated her? Besides the point don’t own a business if you can’t handle pretty people coming In that aren’t your race so that is why I give a one star I wish there was a no star button! Wasted my time and my good mood that morning
Terrible experience. The elderly gentleman with glasses was extremely rude and spoke condescendingly to me. He even stopped serving another customer just so he could approach me and ask me if I was going to order anything I was laying my jacket down at a table and I had been there for under a minute. Save your time and just go to the Starbucks down the street.
First time i went here i forgot my lunch and past this place daily so thought id give it a try. I walked in and was not acknowledged at all. I had to walk to the other end of the counter away from the cash area that you order at. I'm vegetarian so i knew there wouldn't be many options. I asked about the lentil soup and they didn't seem to care that i was a paying customer so i just said i'll take it so i could have food for lunch and not worry about the horrible service. The soup was tasteless btw. Upon speaking with my colleagues they've had similar experiences here. Today I decided to try again, the man was very dismissive and his wife I'm assuming didn't even bother to stick around as i walked in she walked away. I asked about a grill cheese to go w the soup and he said the grill is already turned off, keep in mind it is 230 in the afternoon. So I ordered a salad and tea, but he did not even budge just stood there mumbling. I don't know if its a race thing as others have said if you aren't Portuguese forget about it, or just old school ways of delivering "customer service". Either way i will not be returning .
