Awesome food and absolutely lovely people! I used to order from their monthly meat box for years until I moved overseas, so I try to stop in every time I visit home. This last visit they really exceeded my expectations - food, location, menu, everything feels like it's improved. And it's not just a fantastic restaurant, but a great place to go and pick up some prepared plant based meats to cook at home. We ordered the Mac n cheese, meatball sub, chicken sandwich, with a side of bacon. All fantastic.
My partner and I have been wanting to check this place out for ages and while visiting Victoria from Toronto, finally got the chance. They didn’t disappoint! Even their drink selection was great- Caesars had recently been added to the menu, which was a very pleasant surprise. Everything we tried was so flavourful and amazing, and all the staff were extremely kind and welcoming. The only thing we were upset about is that we couldn’t take any pantry items with us- we’ll be placing an order in the future for sure!
10/10 great comfort food. You can buy products to cook at home. Lots of options. had the mac and cheese.. It had more depth in flavour than I expected and my Partner had he burger of The month, he was v impressed! Would go again
Simply delicious Thanksgiving dinner. Seasoned and browned the Stuffed Beast briefly in butter in a skillet, then roasted according to directions in seasoned butter broth. Served with my usual veggie accompaniments and mushroom gravy. The flavor and texture of the beast was great, and the stuffing is total yum, both savory and slightly sweet. Made for a delightful, festive holiday dinner. Thank you, Very Good Butchers!
Absolutely delicious! The patties are tasty and super moist, very good consistency - not hard or dry, nor chewy, just perfect. The best flavor is probably the "smokin" - pair it with "bacon" and you're golden. Crispy fries were a great combination. Staff is super friendly and the environment is cozy, not pretentious at all. Great variety of different patties, sausages and pickles. Honest prices. I'm not even vegan, but I can confidently say it was one of the best burgers I had - ever! We were so sad for not being able to buy some of their products because we couldn't store it in a cooler before going back home, but then one of waiters gave us a slice of cake, on the house. I have gone here time and time again for years now and am never let down, I have brought non vegan friends here and they also say it’s the best vegan food experience they have ever had. I’ve tried many items off the menu and love trying new limited options. one of my faves is the loaded Mac n cheese. Very friendly all over really good experience
This was supposed to be the Nashville chick'n burger, arrived extremely burnt and inedible. When we called the service was really great, they refunded the burger, gave us a free cupcake and made a new one. Unfortunately this one was also quite burnt but at least edible this time. The onion rings were great and my partner's burger was okay but quite dry.
The ultimate comfort vegan food! So tasty and delicious always, my wife and I make sure to get their products and a good meal from them every time we’re in town. Also got their vegan meats delivered a few times to bring the goodness to us ! Today we went for the first time at their new location and not only the ambiance of the restaurant was cozy and amazing, but the service also exceptional ! We also left with 2 free chocolate chip cookies graciously given by the team just as a thank you! Highly recommend !
A great new location with a beautiful modern interior! The menu is a bit different with some more additions and of course, dinner! Staff are awesome as always, food is even better, and the display of all the products is beautiful! Save da Sea salmon, Butcher’s Select line, some baked goods, cheeses, cream cheeses, cheezecake, etc. No Butcher’s Select products offered in the menu yet, but maybe that will be added soon. Would for sure be heaven for the gluten free scene!
Been going here over a year now and none of their food or service has been anything short of wonderful! They're the reason I was able to go vegan overnight <3 The hot food menu is the best, as well. Best mac and cheese you'll ever have!
