I have mixed feeling about this place. The ambiance is very island like and of course you have the famous tree in the middle of the cafe, which adds character. However, the food took around 30 minutes to arrive, which I was unimpressed by. This had nothing to do with the waitresses, but that really killed my experience because the place wasn’t even packed. It was too long of a wait for a burger to be made in my opinion. Good news is the food tasted great and although it was a bit pricey for what you got, this is definitely one of the more popular tourist attractions to eat at. I’d also like to note that the veggie burger tasted like meat, which is great for vegetarian who miss their meat. I know at night they have performances, which really adds a vibe. So yes, I would recommend checking this place out, only if you’re looking for a slow, laid back experience with nothing else in your day - it’s definitely not a place to have a quick meal at.
I visited this restaurant with my boyfriend during the summer because they were so popular on social media. The food was very good and the chicken skewers were delicious. But I got several fish bones in the salmon sandwich, but that didn't take away from how good it was. The atmosphere of the restaurant was very nice and we did dine under a tree. However, the only complaint I would like to make is that there were too many insects flying around us. At first, there was a small cup of jam on the windowsill next to our table to attract insects, but the waiter took that jam away, causing all the flying insects to start flying towards my food.
Such a unique little cafe with great lattes and breakfast. We were there early due to a ferry at Long Harbour and honestly this place was the only one open at 8am so we came here and glad we did. They have patio seating outside close to the marina. Sign said they have live music as well!! We had the BELT. Bacon was cooked perfectly yes that’s important! Nothing worse than undercooked bacon This bacon was slightly crunchy but not overdone, and the bread was so fresh! Service was also very good!!
The Treehouse cafe is very comfortable atmosphere. The staff were friendly and eager to tend to our table ask if we needed anything regularly. The service was very quick and the food looked great. Aside from how busy it was to get in, it was well worth the wait! I would definitely go back to the tree House cafe, the food was well done and tasty. If you ever get the Salt Spring, put the Treehouse cafe on the list of places to eat.
I came back after so many years, and this little community-loved cafe is always my favourite. Way better welcoming and kindness than anywhere around here, and the food is gooooood. We went for breakfast, lunch, and dinner on different days, and all menus are good. At dinner they have live music with no chargr but by donation. What a joy with some good food and drinks!
Very fun restaurant theme right on the harbour. The lamb burger is an absolute must try. I also really enjoyed the Thai peanut chicken and greens salad.
Poor service, wait time and food. The burgers were so charred we had to cut off the outer layers. Ceasar salad was nearly dressing free. Brewed iced tea was watered down and yes, I was aware it was brewed tea - not Nestle. All the waitresses just huddled in the kitchen discussing their astrology while we hoped they would ask how are meals were so we could voice our concerns. We had 5 adults and 2 kids so they had to split us into 2 tables, but the 1 table ordered and started their meal before the second one waited to order. We were still waiting for our food after the first table had finished. Our server had quite the attitude when she finally came around to check on us, and the fake smile with dead eyes only made the experience worse. An apology or some authenticity would have gone a long way. I used to love this place while on holidays, but it has taken a turn like many places post Covid. So disappointing.
All the burgers here were delicious, we got the beef burger, treehouse deluxe, lamb burger, and salmon sandwich. The place was also so adorable, literally a tree in the middle of the restaurant.
My time in salt spring island was amazing, i was in the tree house once a day when i was staying there, their food, ambience and customer service is outstanding, you have to try their shrimp entree and their home made cheesecake! During summer they have live music in the afternoon which makes it 100x better.
Lovely green Thai dish, local beer-pilsner, works for me. Delightful server, very unique setting and architecture. It also has the world's smallest restroom. Very fun eager to return
