Really nice spot to enjoy a coffee or tea. Lots of lunch options and treats. I only wish they carried gluten free goodies that aren't made with nuts so I could enjoy a treat with my coffee. Staff is always friendly and helpful. It's also nice that they adorn the walls with different local artists work, so you are seeing new artist that you may not have been exposed to previously. I definitely recommend stopping in for a snack or lunch with friends.
We grabbed some breakfast buns here. Delicious, thick sliced bacon on a ciabatta bun, which holds its form well throughout the experience. Beautifully spacious interior with a few, well maintained bathrooms at the back. Perfect place to grab something on the go or to sit down and study or catch up with friends.
I love the environment here! Breakfast is very limited on Salt Spring but thankful this place is open early for your convenience. I’m not really one for coffee but the coffee here goes down as one of the best coffees in the world. The place was modern and cozy. Lots of locals seem to come here often. I love the designs on each item as well in the place. Friendly staff as well.
The coffee is always fantastic and they are open earlier than most places on the island. I was super sad to find they don’t make/serve their fabulous Benny’s for breakfast anymore. They were so good. So I settled for a very expensive breakfast sandwich instead, which was ok but I probably wouldn’t get it again. *EDIT I don't know how to reply so I'll mention here that the breakfast sandwich was okay, nothing special, very basic although fresh and tasty but for almost $16 I expected to be wow'd. I know things cost more on an island and you are pricier than average as you pay your staff living wages but IMO that was a $11-12 sandwich, not $15+
Breakfast was one of the best I have ever had - the Benny’s were on point as well as the smoothie and ice coffee. Highly recommended! Great service and amazing chef!
This café is super trendy, clean and just a really beautiful open space. They have bathrooms available and free Wi-Fi! Their dairy free options are oat milk and coconut milk; coffee was super creamy and delicious! They also have outdoor seating and lots of parking outside however on the weekend it gets really busy!
Not a fan of the coffee but the lattes have been really tasty in my opinion. The atmosphere isn't my thing, I don't feel comfortable staying in there but I will say it was beautifully constructedFood: 2/5
I have been ordering coffee from This company for several years now. I can't do without it. My husband and I both love the Med Roast Peru. We get that in whole bean and grind it for the french press and it's heaven. Really fruity and has a tantalizing acidity without too much bitterness. I was taught to throw a dash of salt in the grinds for the bitterness and I swear it brings out the flavor! I have a subscription though their website and have it several bags shipped every 6 Months in their 2lb bags to reduce the amount of shipping and always have it in the house. I love that they do the slight discounts on the subscriptions as well. Customer service is amazing as well and they always respond promptly and once in a while I find a treat in the order like a local chocolate bar or something. Just amazing in all ways.
Overpriced! $17 for a small Bánh mì. 2 medium coffees the Bánh mì and a croissant was over $40. The quality was decent but they are getting away with highway robbery. I’d consider a different cafe if you plan to eat.
Fantastic! Newly renovated and run like a well oiled machine! I arrived at 7:00am out of necessity to work remotely and be fuelled with glorious coffee. Amazing customer service and great WiFi. Had a quad iced Americano with a delicious frittata, served with a yummy salsa jam. Kids came and met me for breakfast, once they dragged themselves out of bed. They loved everything they chose. By then I was getting hungry again, so I apologized for lingering, and ordered the quinoa salad with a date square. Probably the best quinoa salad I've ever had. Perfectly seasoned and fresh! The staff continue to make me feel welcome as I write this review. Love seeing a manager who gets her hands dirty, buzzing around keeping everything pristinely clean, and is supporting her staff by pitching in and cheering them on. Thank you, Salt Spring Coffee for making a working Friday delightful
