If you’re around Tobermory/lions head area make sure to check this amazing place out. The lady there is kind and sweet and the food and service was excellent. We tired fresh Georgian bay white fish and chips, Cape Town veggie Curry and Lion’s Head Smoked Brisket Beef Dip. Everything was mouthwatering and tasty.
This place is awesome. I tried Gill’s Bobotie, South Africa's national dish, and it was amazing. My husband had Pad Thai with shrimp. He said it was the best he's had. I'm so glad we tried something new. The service was pretty good for how busy the kitchen staff were.
The chef is an amazing person to talk to. He is genuinely passionate in cooking. Delicious food was served very quickly after ordering. We had a very good time here and would certainly return.
It was a nice and delicious lunch! My boyfriend got a South African dish bobotie and I got a Mediterranean platter. These foods are mind blowing and they made our anniversary trip perfect : We are thinking to come back with my boyfriend's fam once again
Great little restaurant, cute dimly lit interior with shady picnic benches available outside on the main road and side of the building. Came here for a little mid work-week lunch. The Medeteranian platter is an excellent portion for the price and each item included tastes great! The smoked brisket poutine was also EXCELLENT! Getting into the nitty gritty of the poutine: the fries were delicious, meat was incredibly tender. The gravy very rich which usually I prefer a lighter gravy but with the brisket was the perfect combination. There may have been a little bit too much gravy on the poutine as it overpowered the taste of the fries and many towards the bottom were starting to get fairly soggy. The portion is very large, could easily feed two which contributed to that factor as well as it took me longer to make it through the dish. The mozzarella cheese was tasty but unassuming, swapping it out for curds would bring it up to 9-9.5/10. Overall due to the shredded cheese and just a bit too much gravy I'd give it a 7.5/10. Still one of the best poutines I've tried, doubly so considering it's this far from the Quebec border Parking: The town has paid parking for visitors, free for registered local residents
Flavours of different cuisines all in one place. As skeptical as we were when we came to dine here, my god did it taste delicious. One issue we had was that it took a really long time for the dishes to arrive, but despite the sleepiness and hunger, it somehow was worth it. I ordered the vegetarian Pad Thai which I wiped clean, and are really looking forward to another opportunity to visit again.
Amazing food. The cafe owner so friendly and warm. I have not had better burgers anywhere in Canada. Their Fish and chips are ones to die for. It was the only place in that region to be open on a Sunday and everything on their menu is best-in class. Their service is super quick and efficient. Loved the place and the vibe.
Definitely recommend this place. If you’re visiting Lion’s head then definitely come over here for dinner or lunch. We took a lunch over there and it’s worth it. They can also make customize according to your preferences. They also have vegetarian options. Food proportion was really good too.Recommended dishesCrispy Chicken Burger, Veggie Burger
This is the place to get fish and chips! Great location, limited parking but lots of roadside space. Enjoy a big hike at Lions Head and enjoy their fish and chips! Nice staff and cute restaurant. Must try.
Food is delicious. Gill's bobotie is our favourite item tried. It is flavourful meat pie type item from South Africa see photo. Flavours of sweet from the fruit/ chutney and savoury meat with curry flavours. Halumi salad and white fish and chips also very good. Pad Thai was good, but not traditional pad Thai flavours. More of a chilli vinegar sauce rather than tamarind fish sauce soy sauce as in traditional pad Thai. Still good, but not the same as pad Thai from a Thai restaurant. Best items were bobotie for uniqueness and flavourfulness. Kitchen has shorter dinner hours. I called today at 6:45pm hoping to get bobotie to take home to my family in Toronto and was told they can't take takeout order since kitchen closes at 7pm, but website says open until 8pm kitchen close at 7pm. I would suggest allowing orders to come in up until kitchen close at 7pm, to honour this time or instead list kitchen close as 6:30pm or 6:45pm so it is clear.
