1/5nnWe’ve been visiting this thrift store for decades—it’s always been a nostalgic and much-anticipated stop whenever we’re in North Vancouver. Sadly, today’s experience broke that tradition.nnThe staff’s attitude has noticeably changed for the worse. One male staff member told us not to sit on a chair-like item which we understand was our mistake, but instead of handling it politely, he abruptly placed a basket on it right after we stood up—an unnecessarily rude gesture done right in front of us.nnThe most disappointing part was at the cashier. The woman at the register a heavier-set staff member with a Russian accent was particularly unprofessional. For two items, she suddenly claimed the price tags were incorrect and insisted on higher prices. While we were waiting for a price check, she even told us to hurry up because there were people in line behind us. That was shocking—especially considering we were already being inconvenienced by her re-pricing.nnIf this is the new standard of customer service at Salvation Army, we will not be returning. You’ve just lost an entire family of loyal customers due to this staff member’s dismissive and disrespectful behavior.

I don’t understand this “Thrift store”.nYou get given free items then price them like they’re new. What am I missing?nnAnd the donation receiving guy that’s always grumpy?nnWhat is going on?!nWouldn’t recommend this place. I’m the past I’ve gotten some excellent deals here but they’re shaping up to be far from their True North if it ever was true.nnLooking for somewhere else to donate my stuff.

I have literally been coming to this thrift store since I was in a stroller - that’s 26+ years.nThis is bs, they have a section behind the counter with aritzia, patagonia, Ralph Lauren and lululemon. Stuff they got for free that 2 years ago would just be out in the open. If you go thrift outside of the counter there’s literally aritzia on the rack anyway so whats the point in the section behind the counter….There’s no signage saying “only 1 at a time” and the woman told me off for being behind the counter looking. lol. Girl if you want me to spend $50-500 on some clothing you GOT FOR FREE - FOR CHARITY. Then you should be nice to me. Wish I could leave 0 stars. Not to mention this place is a wreck. Everything is over $10-30, The racks are so disorganized, clothes on the floor and clothing strewn everywhere. You need better organization, fitting rooms, and cheaper prices!

Found what I was looking for: some Vancouver merch to bring home as a souvenir. Why buy new is I can give already existing one a second life? Clean store and very nice and friendly staff.

I am deeply concerned about management of this store.nnI shop at this store very often, nearly weekly, and the staff are generally good. But, they are clearly under stress constantly which causes them to lash out. Furthermore, I have noticed that many negative reviews here are met with an offer to email the customer services wing.nnI need management to understand it is your responsibility to route complaints, not the customers.nYou are replying to people who have had a negative experience and asking them to do more work to fix it when it is your responsibility. This does nothing to help, only further inflaming the situation and leading to more conflicts with staff in the store.nThis is baffling and frustrating as someone who deeply cares about this store.nnI am proud to support charity shops, but I am deeply disappointed that this charity shop does not seem to equally support its customers or workers.
