We enjoyed a nice dinner here for our anniversary. Sitting out on the patio can offer up some great views come sunset time. We had good, attentive service, and both enjoyed our food. Yummy dessert choices too.

Food was cold, tasteless, and the elk hash was more a skillet than a hash. It was gamey, and tasted spoiled. Server was good and did what she could.

We specifically went to the Ruddy Duck because of the Blue Zones insert in the newspaper that announced that the Ruddy Duck had Blue Zones approved entrees and choices that emphasized healthy plant-based, meat-free foods. My sister is a vegan and it can be difficult to find restaurants that have these options so we were excited to try out this place, but what we found was that the menu only had a couple of vegetarian choices and no vegan choices. A veggie burger would have been nice. My sister finally decided on Huevos Rancheros, and asked the waitress to have the chef prepare it without cheese or egg, and to substitute tofu. What she was served was a plate with two toasted corn tortillas atop a pool of red sauce, with a small puddle of black bean puree hidden underneath. I rarely make a fuss about food but this was the poorest excuse for a meal we've ever been served and we requested that they provide tofu and more refried beans puree. To their credit, they offered her vegan sausage which she gladly accepted and they did not charge us for it. A good restaurant makes sure it's customers are satisfied, and I appreciate that. I do think that after all the hype in the Blue Zones insert in the paper, they should really make a more sincere effort to meet the needs of vegan and vegetarian diners. I'm disappointed with restaurants that only provide one or two options. How difficult is it to make a vegetarian stir fry, a veggie burger, pasta primavera, or something creative? And although the paper mentioned tofu dishes, there were none listed on the menu. I gave this place a 3-star rating and I honestly must say we probably won't go back - it was not a stellar meal for any of us, but the lack of attention to the vegan meal was inexcusable. I would think they would have been embarrassed to send that dish to the table.... so if you are expecting a true "Blue Zones" experience, you probably should not go here.

Today's Saturday afternoon experience at the bar is two stars. Waited five minutes after sitting at bar (when no no one else was at the bar and there were only two small tables) when I finally got someone's attention...who had to get help pouring a beer. Waited ten minutes for my next beer because they were "slammed" with two large tables at 1:30 after the lead sent help home. Guy next to me waited 15 minutes for his first beer and was never even acknowledged until I pointed out hour long had been waiting. Staff had plenty of time to complain about personal issues and visit with family friends, however. Last beer had way too much head, which is completely unacceptable for $6 pints. I've been here several times now, and generally food is good and service is OK. Not today. Note to management: train your employees, even this working lunch on a weekend, to acknowledge each customer as they enter and to show some sense of urgency.

Unusual fare, and nice pairings and presentation of entrees. A bit pricier than two $s would indicate. It's in a Wyndham Resort Lodge, which is very stately, but henley & hiking shoes were well enough received. Agree, the chicken entree was good, as was the halibut.
