We arrived in Edmunston after 4 pm. The tourist bureau suggested The Pirate as the place for lobster. We had really good chowder and a lobster roll with fries both were excellent choices! Thanks
First lobster roll for the trip-had classic, all dressed and garlic butter-11 dayse after Atlantic trip, had to go back before leaving. Delicious and best price so far!
I got the lobster poutine here and it has to be one of the worst things I’ve ever tried to eat. The fries were stale, there wasn’t much lobster and the gravy was more like a flavourless sludge. It cost $23 too! After a couple bites, I had no choice but to throw it out.
The Pirate restaurant at the Gray Rock Truck Stop can not care about the truck driver that stop here cause I am one of those drivers and went I try to place an order for my supper I was told sorry but we got behind and are not taking more orders. All I can say about this is that the truck stop would be better served my having a subways shop in it place or a better restaurant
I stood in line for over 10 minutes at 1930 with one person in front of me, with nobody behind the counter. When someone finally showed up they said they were closed for the night. Lights on, no signs saying they were closed. I was looking forward to trying the poutine...Service: 1/5
Awesome Lobster rolls, good prices, and great poutine. They also have hamburgers, breakfasts, and other seafood snacks. The restaurant is located in a truck stop, there are many seats available inside.
Situated between a truck rest and a Tim Hortons, this spot offers something a little different while on the road. A lobster poutine in particular! Shared seating with the coffee shop, but not as busy so no line really.
The best lobster roll I ever had in my life! The quality and the freshness of the lobster meat is just simply most excellent. $10 per roll with the amount of the lobster meat you get, it is die for!!!
We’re looking for a Tim Horton’s breakfast on our way from Rivière du Loup to Amherst and saw this place. The line up at Timmys was long so we thought we’d give it a chance. So happy we did. We all had omelettes and they were awesome. The server was friendly and joked with us. The coffee was almost as good as Timmys and the omelettes came with toast and hashbrowns. They were a good size and fuelled us for the day. I’d recommend it for sure. It didn’t take much longer than it would have if we were waiting for Tim Hortons and was much better.
The Pirate restaurant is wedge between a Tim Horton and a gas/convenience store, so during the day, it is busy. Had to wait a few minutes before I could order there's a queue. Went there hoping to get cooked lobster to bring back home, but The Pirate restaurant stopped selling cooked lobster since last year maybe because of covid. Ordered the lobster roll and fried clam strips for the kids. We sat with other customers from Tim Horton as theres no dedicated section for customers of The Pirate. The kids said the lobster roll were bland, just some mayonnaise taste and that's it. But they loved the fried clam strip. The people in Edmundston are very nice and friendly, will go back and visit again in the future. Hopefully The Pirate will restart selling cooked lobsters again.
