We arrived in Edmunston after 4 pm. The tourist bureau suggested The Pirate as the place for lobster. We had really good chowder and a lobster roll with fries both were excellent choices! Thanks
First lobster roll for the trip-had classic, all dressed and garlic butter-11 dayse after Atlantic trip, had to go back before leaving. Delicious and best price so far!
Awesome Lobster rolls, good prices, and great poutine. They also have hamburgers, breakfasts, and other seafood snacks. The restaurant is located in a truck stop, there are many seats available inside.
Situated between a truck rest and a Tim Hortons, this spot offers something a little different while on the road. A lobster poutine in particular! Shared seating with the coffee shop, but not as busy so no line really.
We’re looking for a Tim Horton’s breakfast on our way from Rivière du Loup to Amherst and saw this place. The line up at Timmys was long so we thought we’d give it a chance. So happy we did. We all had omelettes and they were awesome. The server was friendly and joked with us. The coffee was almost as good as Timmys and the omelettes came with toast and hashbrowns. They were a good size and fuelled us for the day. I’d recommend it for sure. It didn’t take much longer than it would have if we were waiting for Tim Hortons and was much better.
The Pirate restaurant is wedge between a Tim Horton and a gas/convenience store, so during the day, it is busy. Had to wait a few minutes before I could order there's a queue. Went there hoping to get cooked lobster to bring back home, but The Pirate restaurant stopped selling cooked lobster since last year maybe because of covid. Ordered the lobster roll and fried clam strips for the kids. We sat with other customers from Tim Horton as theres no dedicated section for customers of The Pirate. The kids said the lobster roll were bland, just some mayonnaise taste and that's it. But they loved the fried clam strip. The people in Edmundston are very nice and friendly, will go back and visit again in the future. Hopefully The Pirate will restart selling cooked lobsters again.
This is the best gas station lobster you will ever have since you likely have never had that and never would normally. The claim chowder was to die for and so was the lobster roll. Give it a try!!
Absolutely tasteless, don't waste your money. French fries was ok.
We were robbed on the high seas!!! The old restaurant had much larger portions for the money!! Food was good although portion size small. They are taking on water and beginning to sink!
Visited Edmundston over the weekend and found The Pirate. Great little place, located in the Truck Stop. Staff were super friendly, but the prices were a little high for Truck Stop food! The food tasted great which certainly softens the price a little.
