Staff are great, even if you are looking at spray paint they do give you time unlike some other stores. Being a spray paint artist buying a large quantity of paint it would have been helpful if they had large bags to accommodate for such thing instead of giving you a box to put it in even if it only take up maybe half the box. The area it is in isn’t the best and if you are going on transit please be careful as people will try and steal what you have purchased. Overall amazing store, great products, great service and well organized.
The place had decent selection of art products and I like their affordable prices as well but you might also find other products that have high prices. I found nice colors of paints and I bought 3 colors for our wall art decor at our house. The place was almost spotless and the items were organized properly. I also bought paint brushes for my brother since he also loves to paint.
My previous visit to this store was wonderful and the staff was amazingly helpful. So naturally I kept this store in mind when I decided to shop for some boxing week bargains. I looked online and found a fountain pen I'd like to try at 50% off and thought it was a wonderful deal. In the description of the item, it showed that a free notebook would also be included, for a limited time, so even better! So we went today to purchase this pen and get the free gift, only to find out that the pricing for the pen with notebook was $20 more than listed online. So I mentioned it to the sales girl who said she had to check with, who I assume was, the manager. The manager basically said that it was a typo online and would not honor the online pricing. This really made me feel like the store was dishonest and had false advertising. In my opinion, she should've honored the pricing this one time and fixed the online description, since it was not my fault that the description was misleading. That being said, this experience has put a sour taste in my mouth and I don't think I will return to the store in the future because I feel like it has poor business practises. This is a shame since I think the store is a great art store and has great pricing, otherwise.
Beware of misleading advertising for free shipping for order over $150. Ordered to quality for ‘free’ shipping and later received an invoice for shipping costs. Interesting - would not have ordered $150 of merchandise to qualify. Called the company and they are aware that they don’t offer free shipping !?! interesting
Love to buy from the paint spot, have been coming here for quite a number of years. Some of their prices are a bit high but you do get quality and a friendly face. There do have periodic sales and sometimes they will have a pallet sale. Really good buys, usually of loose paper for drawing, etc. A fairly good selection of paint brushes and niche items. They have a small selection of learning books/videos and there is classes that can be held in the back but not sure about now due to Covid, might want to phone and ask about their plans for 2021 classes Great selection of paints for oil/acrylics.
Place to be for art and art advice in Edmonton. Sketch books on display filled in to see how mediums work, and were able to answer extremely specific questions with ease and were great to talk to. Danke for the service.
Most of the products are on sale, the employees were friendly and helpful but the store is more expensive than Colour art supplies and online shopping. It was mentioned that silicone molds for art resin are available on their website but when I arrived there were none and only the one for customized casting is there
Went to the Paint Spot for the first time at the recommendation by someone at Stylus, since I was looking for dip pen nibs. I was very pleasantly surprised at the range of supplies for calligraphy, including brush pens, nibs, paper, and paper, among other things. The staff saw me wandering around somewhat confused and quickly directed me to what I wanted, and were friendly and helpful. I will be going back in the future.
I went specially for this big Sketchbook 600 pages one. This sketchbook is very nice. I love it. They have good collection of art supplies. I always end up buying more then what I have on my list..
Visited here to pickup a few paint supplies rather than my usual spot and found everything I needed, definitely had an amazing selection. The reason I give this place a 3 star rating is because I was followed and watched everywhere I went in the store. Made it super uncomfortable to shop. There's definitely a difference between amazing customer service and being followed everywhere. The response from this store is pretty much as expected. One of the main reasons I won't be returning and continuing to go to my usual spot.
