Had a great meal on boxing day at The Old Triangle. There wasn't much opened in town that day, and I felt like they did a great job managing a busy dining room. Spacious and well organized and the staff was working hard to take care of everyone. Our table enjoyed the surf and turf and the Irish beef stew along with some drinks and the warm gingerbread with whiskey caramel sauce. Everything was delicious and good value for the prices. Great job! Parking: Lots of street parking and there is a small lot right outside with some accessible spaces. Wheelchair accessibility: Accessible parking next to the building and bathrooms are on the main floor.
The Old Triangle rarely disappoints. We had a great meal on Saturday afternoon. Only consideration was the fish and chips…..they were a 6/10- the fish was over cooked. This is a rarity however as I have had the this dish several times in the past.Recommended dishesAtlantic Salmon
Great place! I had an amazing lunch in The Opd Triangle! The beer selections is above the expectations. I had one IPA ''Bizarre'' ... nice one The scallops wrapped in bacon and sweet chili sauce is delicious. The Fish and Chips with the homemade tartare sauce make my day! Special thanks for the service team Parking: In the street or beside the restaurant Wheelchair accessibility: They can accommodate wheelchair nicely
Lovely oasis when I came to town on business. A pint and a plate of outstanding bruschetta. Lovely staff and live music that made me happy. What more can you ask for? Vegetarian options: Several vegetarian options and some that could easily be vegan. Dietary restrictions: I have a cow milk allergy and they were careful to.acoomodate.
Depending how busy it is, you might have a wait for your food, but trust me, it's worth it. I had the maple currie chicken penne. Wow is the only possible word. My wife felt similarly about her fish and chips. So, so good! Would be back every night if possible and not weird.
We were in town for a cheer competition. Was seated right away by a gentleman. Took 10 minutes to get a menu. We ordered our starters but had yet to get our drinks ordered. The wife and I thought it would be fun to take bets on how long it would be to get drinks so we set a timer. At 35min a man who was working hard to do all of the “extras” saw fit to ask us if we were “ok”. Got us our drinks ordered and long story short we left at 1:05hrs after we finished our drinks we still did not have any food and left.
Went with a large group of people, the service was friendly but not quick. It took over two hours for all to order and eat. My spinach dip was good, some other meals looked great but the nachos next to me we're overcooked. Likely will go again for a drink for the ambiance, will likely skip the appetizers.
First of all I ain't never review pubs. I never believed the reviews in Google were true until I went here. Like my Uncle Angus used to say "Never eat anything bigger then your head.", but in this particular place I made an exception for the Belfast Burger. Boy was it tasty, I'll tell you ain't no pub in the whole province of Nova Scotia can top this beast of a burger. Now I forgot to take a photo of the burger but I ask of you to try it for yourself.
Very disappointing to wait OVER an hour for a drink for it to be completely watered down by the ice because it sat so long before it was delivered to our table and tasted like chlorine… I couldn't even tell what the drink was over the taste of the melted ice… for a $8 drink I’d expect a lot better. Ended up leaving without even getting our appetizers due to the incredibly long wait time.
The food was great and the drinks were good. It's a tad pricey, but worth it. Great location if you're bussing or taking the ferry from Halifax, but the best spot for parking on the weekends is alderney, other than that parking is a huge pain.Food: 4/5
