My wife and I went there around 4pm, I guess it was down time. People had their lunch...
Definitely enjoyed the experience my family and I had here. Went here about an hour before closing and we were served promptly + our sever was very attentive. All the pasta that we ordered were amazing and already comes with soup/salad. The calamari and the chicken wings were also a good choice for appies.
Gluten-free.. This particular restaurant was down in a basement. It was dark and understaffed. It took a while to be seated, but we had a fantastic server. I ordered a gluten-free pasta dish, and they sent me out a regular pasta dish. I must say the pasta looked fantastic. I questioned, and of course, they said it was not gluten-free. They took the dish back it was not long before they brought me out my gluten free Pasta dinner. The noodles were dry. I asked for more sauce, which, of course, an additional charge. If my server was not so patient and tried so hard, I would have kicked up a fuss. I do not like to give bad reviews, but I will say if you eat here, please pay attention to your gluten-free dishes.
We felt the experience was excellent. When we arrived , we were told by what looked like the manager the wait time will be 30 -40 minutes. He took our number and texted us with the time frame to tell Us to come to the host table. Perfect !! The server Gev was really nice and attentive , the restaurant was cozy and comfortable. We order seafood and regular fettuccine Alfredo and thought it was excellent. The salad, ice cream, tea/coffee and sourdough bread just the icing on the cake . 2023 update. Came back and same good service and food!!
Wouldn't say this place is very nice, it has good atmosphere and nice interiors but the food is not good. We opted out for the menu which had pasta, salad/soup and ice cream. The pasta is terrible, overly cooked, it had no taste. Salad and desert was okaish. Service was good but I wouldn't go again, it's just not worth it.
The flavors presented were not only tantalizing to the palate but also arrived promptly, upholding an unwavering commitment to quality. I wish to express my sincere gratitude for this truly exceptional rendezvous. My favorite - your famous bread with garlic butter and Penne with ChickenFood: 5/5
It has been quite a while since I visited the mothership at Gastown, Vancouver whose claim to fame was its location in a refurbished railway car complete with a short length of track underneath. So I was excited to come across an offspring in Whistler BC. The restaurant was busy but not jam packed and it took only a 5-10 minutes to get a table. It was Father’s Day so I had expected it to be busier than it was. However Whistler was cold and raining on and off so there were very few people out and about in the village. Make a note of the restaurant’s name and set your expectations accordingly. No gourmet dining or experiencing unique tastes. Just classic spaghetti and meatball around which all varieties of pasta dishes revolved. I stuck with the star of the menu, namely the aforementioned dish. There was so much food on the plate I could eat only half of it. The meatballs were tasty, with a bit of a zing in the flavour, which thankfully was not due to some hot spice that seems so very popular these days unfortunately even very mild hot spice is incompatible with my living. The price of the meal is extremely reasonable, especially for Whistler and the sky high prices charged by most of its restaurants. This is especially so when the price of the entree includes sour dough bread, a choice between a salad or soup at the beginning and some delightful spumoni ice cream after. My mango smoothie was $4.50 which is about half of what you would pay elsewhere. Yet it was made with real life-ice cream and was delicious. The restaurant is hidden away somewhat in a basement that you have to partly walk through a building and down some stairs to get to. It would be easy not to know it exists and I came across it purely by chance when I glanced at a fairly small sign indicating its existence up at street level. When you enter the restaurant you discover it is a lot bigger than the entrance would suggest. Lots of wood inside, giving the place a warm, comfortable and relaxing feeling, which was especially appreciated in such inclement weather. Staff were very pleasant and efficient. The only negative was when I asked for the leftovers to be put in a container, the waiter just left an open cardboard box on the table for us to scoop the food into. I am more used to the food being taken away by service staff and then returned inside a neatly sealed closed box without having to deal with all that potentially messy scooping around. And for those interested, at the entrance there was a “we are hiring sign” offering, among other things, select $3 entrees for staff. Food that good and so cheap, as well as a summer living in Whistler, seems like a pretty good opportunity for someone the same sign also stated a job at the restaurant offered the opportunity for a person to own their own restaurant one day. Hmmm….not impossible I guess but maybe stretching things a bit?. I would highly recommend this restaurant for the food and atmosphere, not necessarily as a place to work!. Update: Since this review was posted I have been informed that having to fill your own doggy bag was introduced as a preventative health measure during Covid and most restaurants now continue with this practice. As an aside general comment not specific to this restaurant while cut back in service made during the crisis was justified, that is no longer the case. Customers are in effect paying the old price for a reduction in service. In a fair world lesser services should result in a corresponding reduction in price. Of course that will never happen!
Waited 30 mins for a table for 4. The fettuccine seafood Alfredo was nice that comes with garlic bread, coffee/tea and minestrone soup. Overall very tasty Italian food and was good.Food: 4/5
The ribs was really tasty, the chicken parmigiana was also good. What I like was the what it taste home made tomato sauce. The price was really good for the plate size. Another thing is the price is very good. With the plates we picked we get a soup and ice cream which was really worth it.Food: 4/5
We went to Whistler last month and had lunch at this restaurant one time and it is now in the list of our family’s favorite dining experience this year. For its price, the food quality is superb while service is top-notch! The first time we were there, Anna was our server and she was so lovely! when we came back, it was Cory and he was very helpful! and the manager was so patient with us and the kids! thank you, Chris! Great food, amazing people, beautiful location!
Pretty restaurant, I liked the stained glass lamps and the wood carved chairs. The service was good and the food really nice. Very tasty bread. Compared to Olive Gardens I would say it's better.Food: 5/5
