The staff and owners at the Nutty Bean Cafe are truly amazing. I had my first chai tea latte there and it was spectacular. The service was so friendly and quick. Highly recommend this cafe if you are in Lakefield, ON.
We visited this place on the weekend as it looked like a nice spot for lunch and tried their chicken quesadilla and a sandwich. The sandwich was not too bad but the quesadilla was pretty much a western sandwich without the ham and with mushrooms. The veggies were not cooked either and it appears that the meal was rushed. I also realized it should be coming with a soup or salad and I didn't get either of it. Not very impressed.
Crusty Owner; Can No Longer SupportnnRode into Lakefield for a semi-regular stop at The Nutty Bean Cafe - having realized I forgot my bike lock, I sat off on the small side porch with my bike, completely out of the way. The owner made a point of coming out specifically to chastise me for having my bike with me! Context: it was 2:30 and they close at 3:00 - hardly busy, and I was entirely out of the way deliberately. Rather than even pretend to care about how my meal or coffee was, he was all business, fixated on my egregious bike placement. Literally not even a “how are you?” or a “how’s your meal?”. This is how regular customers are treated? Super weird. It’s not worth the mediocre espressos and quasi bagged salad to support this business anymore, sadly. I used to really like this place.
My friend and l had the best Latte today.nSuch friendly staff, enjoyed our chat with them too about the coffee..nLook forward to eating there on our next visit.
We found ourselves in Lakefield today and decided to try the Nutty Bean for breakfast.nThe service was amazing, food fantastic and the atmosphere was welcoming. We have been to several chain restaurants and the food has been disappointing. This place will now become our new go to.
