The New Eclectic

I'm so disheartened by the overwhelming number of bad reviews which are from some years ago on this store! I've been here 4 times now in the past year, and each time the service has been excellent! I've come across 3 different people too in my 4 times here so all staff/operators here are extremely nice. I bought a red teapot the first time and it has been such a great conversation piece thus far, returned to get some hand carved coasters and then once again some ceramic cups, saucers and plates. Shopped for my family's secret santa presents here as well : Today I returned to buy one hat, but left with two! Once again, the lady at the counter was beyond helpful and kind, and extremely personable. I really encourage those visiting to leave them a review to recreate their reputation, since they've clearly put a lot of effort into customer service

I'm really surprised by the previous reviews, because I had a fantastic experience. The woman in the store this day was the owner of the store I think she said someone in her family is usually at the store and she was wonderful. She noticed I was looking at some hand-carved coasters and asked if I had seen some of the other ones she had, and was extremely helpful and sweet. The only downside for me was that the shop is small, and with all of the stuff in there, it's very tight. Not very many people can be in there at a time. They have great things and the woman that owns the shop is very nice so try not to let a couple of bad reviews deter you.

Wonderful store and very pleasant staff. Man at the counter was a sweetheart I purchased an umbrella while it was raining outside. He offered to remove all the plastic and tags so I can use it immediately. Lovely shop!

The woman at this store was extremely rude and unfriendly, following us around, asking us to put things down. We were nothing but polite and friendly, even complimenting her on the items. If you have a store front in granville island, please expect that people will enter to look at your items. If you don't like it, might I suggest selling online instead? We moved on and spent our money elsewhere.

My wife came to your store on Tuesday and was looking at a scarf but was told not to touch those ones on the display, she was then followed around and went to a section of the store to look at something else but was told by the lady to move as she was 'working in that section' the lady was very rude both in her manner and tone of voice. My wife walked out without buying anything and won't be going back and neither will our friends or family.

Haha. I totally agree with the bad reviews. I'm sure the woman servicing there is just an employee. Our situation was when my partner touched a few wind chimes to see how they sound, the woman asked her histerically if we were going to buy them or not. We left the store right away but another partner stayed to "confront" and understand her. She said that there are 2,500 tourists out there that come and touch the chimes and never buy anything. So my partner suggested she could put a sign of "Do not touch", or move the chimes way up, or simply box them. Haha what a lady... Please go visit the store and play and touch and make all the noise you want from the wind chimes. That will make that woman quit that job and have a more fulfilling livelihood.

Woman running the store was extremely rude and made the experience in here truly terrible. We ended up leaving after being asked if we were actually looking for anything "or just standing in the way". Definitely won't be going back.

Lovely shop. Must have different people from the bad reviews. Been here twice and always nice experience. Unique items, not the same old souvenirs. Definitely will be back.

I like the variety but it was difficult to shop because the isles were very narrow, even for my small size. The gentleman at the counter was nice enough for a quick chat.
