I had planned to drop in to the Nelson Museum as part of my Cheyenne itinerary. The size of the facility & the number of artefacts on display were unexpected. I was really impressed. This is a must-see if you're travelling through Cheyenne. I hope to give more support to this institution in the future.
So cool and only 5 dollars to get in. A great exhibit of firearms and arrow heads and spurs and taxidermy..I could go on and on..Is a 3 story building but does have a elevator.
The most absolutely amazing collection of western ... everything... and probably the highest quality examples of anything in the regions history. A Cheyenne must see.
I thought it was pretty cool! This is a man's personal collection of knick-knacks from the old west! A little bit lacking in information but there is lots to see!

This is an excellent museum that has tons to see. There are three floors, and an audio tour on your phone to guide you. $5 entry covers thr military museum across the street. You will be glad you stopped in to see one of a kind items in a well organized atmosphere.
One of the best experiences I had when visiting Wyoming. Great collection western guns ,saddles and military uniforms etc. Awesome collection of historical items.

Absolutely amazing museum! You will be hard pressed to find a better curated collection, outside of the Smithsonian! Not just a Wyoming treasure, but a true national treasure!
