We stayed overnight to celebrate my Birthday. The pools were wonderful, the staff were very pleasant, kind and accommodating. We had a private hot tub outside our suite. We checked the tub when we arrived, and found it was set to 89, so we turned it up. By the time we wanted to use it later that evening, it was fully up to temperature. Dinner was amazing. I would have to say it was the best meal I have ever had! Our server, Sandy was excellent. His recommendations were excellent and his personality made us enjoy the evening even more. I'd highly recommend this establishment.
We've stayed at the Millcroft Inn & Spa for one night this past weekend celebrating our wedding anniversary. Our stay was absolutely great. Grounds and Spa are stunning. Hot Springs were not busy, so we felt like we are on a VIP trip just for two of us. Staff is very pleasant and virtual concierge was pretty helpful as well. Dining experience is one of a kind at Headwaters Restaurant. Overall, the property is dated, but they do promote it as a vintage hotel, so we did not find it a big deal for us as we expected this. We stayed at a King Bed Room in Manor House on the first floor which had a very nice outdoor patio. The room was equipped with everything we needed and even more. Washroom/Bathroom was renovated "with style" and the bed was truly comfortable. I highly recommend this place and we will definitely come back ourselves when time permits.
When you drive up to this place you are in aw of the beauty of both the landscape and the main building. It is so quaint and picturesque even more so than the pictures. The staff are very welcoming and friendly. The food at the restaurant is amazing. I had a chicken cesar salad and it was the best I have ever had. The salad was delicious and the chicken honestly was the best chicken I have ever had. I wish I could cook like that. Our waitress was so sweet and provided us with excellent service. We had a couple of treatments at the spa and both were so relaxing and again the staff were so kind and skilled and it was such a nice experience. The outdoor pools were so lovely. The reason why I can not give 5 stars is because our room was not what I was expecting. It was very dated and worn and just did not give the cozy feel that the rest of this establishment is boasting with. We stayed in a Croft room and if we return we certainly will stay at the mill or manor instead. The other reason for the four stars is because the restaurant closes at 2:30 until 5:00 and we were not aware of this and we were trying to get a hold of staff to order food and no one would return our calls or help us with this. When I finally reached someone they seemed bothered by me asking about food order. Because this place is so beautiful and more amazing staff than not I have to give a four star rating and I would recommend this place.
We hosted a leadership retreat for 26 people at Millcroft Inn. Our experience was EXCELLENT! The organizing process was seamless and simple. The food and drinks were delicious and very accommodating to dietary restrictions. The spa, outdoor pool and saunas are an awesome experience and were enjoyed by all! The rooms are very clean, smell AMAZING and the beds are so comfortable. It was as comfortable as our king size bed at home. The gardens, grounds and trails are spectacular. It truly is an oasis. The staff are receptive, kind, adaptive and generous. They answered every question and accommodation we had. It was an overall 10/10 experience and we will be coming back!!
My wife and I were very excited to be able to reserve, well in advance of our anniversary, to dine at the HEADWATERS restaurant at Millcroft Inn. We asked for the "POD" as it is a unique dining experience overlooking a waterfall, beautiful landscaping and treed walkways. I was bit disappointed that the menu was extremely limited, offering only 6 Entrees and, frankly, very pricey to say the least. In "post covid" times, I get it. Prices tend to be escalated for absolutely everything everywhere so that wasn't a huge issue. The food was fabulous, and our server was outstanding. Here's where I get to my ONE STAR REVIEW. The windows around the POD were disgusting. Old spider webs, grease and grime, at least 50 - 60 dormant large insects and spiders, some alive and some dead. All over the panes of every window and completely sickening in every possible way. I couldn't eat fast enough to get out of there as soon as possible. We expressed our disgust to the staff, and they really had no explanation of the repulse that we ate in. With all due respect, please, please clean the windows in the POD. Send me a note and I will be glad to come back again. Until that medial task is done, I know that I certainly will not be dining at Headwaters restaurant ever again.
Stayed here for my wedding. While the grounds and exterior of the buildings are very picturesque, that's where it ended. In terms of service and accommodations it does not remotely compare to the other affiliated hotels in the vintage hotel group like the pillar and post. We booked the king suite in the manor house, and it did not look close to what was advertised in the photos when we booked. It was very small and dark and was very difficult to do hair and makeup in with a wedding party of only 5 girls. Food was terrible and service was slow. My wedding party had also booked pedicures at their spa months in advance for he wedding, and the spa called to cancel some of our appointments 10 minutes before our arrival. While after some discussion with a manager they provided a small discount on the room for compensation, no compensation was offered freely. The only offer was complimentary champagne which was never provided. We had also inquired into booking our rehersal dinner at their restaurant but fortunately decided against it after they had advised we would need to reserve an entire banquet hall and have a 5 course formal plated meal where all 20 guests would have to order the same meal. Super stuffy and overpriced and after tasting the food am relieved we went elsewhere. Had high expectations because I have stayed at other vintage hotels and had a great experience but would not recommend the Millcroft and would not stay here again. If you're looking for a great hotel in the area stay at Hockley Valley instead, worth the extra 15 minute drive if you're coming from the city. Nov 10 update: I was never provided or received anything via email in regards to a complimentary pedicure for a future visit. I would also point out that if someone called in sick that day the appropriate response would be to notify the client first thing, not 10 minutes before arrival so that no alternative plans can be made.
I stayed overnight at the croft houses and it was great. Its more of a cottage vibe with a natural fire place. Its pet friendly as well. Nice hiking trails. The spa was excellent, we did the life facial but the reflexology was boring. The water therapy and sauna was amazing. The only thing I didn't not like was breakfast, I got a package and before it was buffet all you can eat style with a chef making omelettes. Now its not a buffet, its a la carte.
Amazing getaway. Stayed at the Crofts and loved the outdoor hot tub and patio. Dinner at Headwaters was incredible - in both the food or service. Everyone was friendly and accommodating. The spa was beautiful and relaxing. Highly recommend and will stay again!
Beautiful spot to take a stroll before taking lunch in the historic building. Ask for the lounge menu if you prefer a casual meal - The mussels and bread basket were delicious. They have a reasonable selection of cocktails and wine. I will be back to enjoy the food and scenery.Service: 4/5
I love Millcroft Inn and try to visit every year. The hot springs and croft rooms are my favorite experience for a day away of relaxation. This year I found a couple of things were not as impressive as previous years. Water seemed less clean, couch in my room had quite a bit of dog hair on it, lounge had 2 food options, indoor poolside was dirty and had pools of water sitting by the windows. I think this place has great potential like maybe adding more poolside food options, having an outdoor fire going by the hot springs would be a nice addition as well
