Excellent service. Views out over Liberty Bay. Delicious food. The place was packed at 1:30 on Friday afternoon, so it was really loud inside. We shared edamame best we've ever had. One person in our group had pulled pork, one had calamari, one had fish and chips. Everyone was delighted with their food. I had the shrimp Louie salad. It tasted great, but next time I'll get the dressing on the side. The salad was drowning in dressing. There will definitely be a next time! Kid-friendliness: There's seating at the bar, but there are also tables and booths and plenty of seating outside. There were lots of families there for lunch. Parking: The Loft is right next to city parking. If the nearby lots are full, continue up the hill. There's another city lot a couple of blocks up on the right.
First time visitors, our daughter highly recommended this place and she did well. We met the owners and they were super sweet and helpful. Had the Fish and chips, they were done well and not over loaded with batter. Very generous servings. The avocado chips and sauce was amazing. I would recommend that they add more desert.
Food had amazing flavor! A little expensive for what you get, but that's obviously because of the location. Well worth it in my opinion! Great menu that is sure to please everyone in your group. Service could have been a little more attentive, but very friendly and efficient. Wide variety of drinks and very family friendly. Will be back!
3 stars since only one person in the group liked their food me. The garlic fries were an extra charge. The fries were cold and burnt. It almost seems like two batches of fries . The burger was just ok Beef stew was just ok. What was tasty was the steamed clam. It had a nice wine taste to it. The garlic flavor was on point. The covered porch was well heated. It provided some nice views. The day we came in, there was a sign about lack of staff and slow service. The service was slow that day. The food came out in a reasonable speed. It all came out together. Parking in the area was easy. There are parking lots free on both sides of the restaurant. I will probably try another place when I am back.
The Loft has a great location with nice views of the water. Service is good. The food is overpriced for the quality. I had the pesto primavera which lacked seasoning and vegetables except onions which accounted for a quarter of the dish and cost $22. Kids meal was served in a cute paper pirate ship.
The view of the Kitsap Bay here is unbeatable. You can get window seats or sit in the heated patio. We ordered three dishes for lunch, Burger & garlic fries, Steamer clams, and Soup of the day - beef stews. The only one that we all really liked was the steamer clams. They tasted fresh and the white wine sauce and garlic bread were great matches. The beef stew was average. The most disappointing was the garlic fries. Some of them were mushy, some were burnt, and they were all cold. Other than that, the staff were very friendly.
We went here before my sons wedding in August 2021, I thought the food was great, the staff was very personal and our waitress went out of her way to snap a picture of our memorable dinner, she had to wash her hands and put on rubber gloves before taking our picture as to keep her from passing any germs onto her loved ones. I was impressed. The boys said the beer was really good and the view, wow, overlooking the water, and the sunset, was spectacular. I'll definately come here again when I'm in the area.
Visiting downtown Poulsbo and looking for a great place to eat? The Loft overlooks Liberty Bay and the marina. Pleasant views, relaxing atmosphere and great tasting food. Located upstairs with a nice outdoor seating area, plenty of space for small or large gatherings. Also Kennedy our server provided 5+ star service.
I've been here 5 or 6 times, once just to grab take-away bowls of their awesome corn chowder for my sister-in-law who desperately wanted more before she flew home. Fabulous view over the marina and Liberty Bay from the covered and heated open deck. The fried avocado slices are yuuuuuuummmmmy, and the fish tacos are very good. I haven't been disappointed by anything I've ordered.
The Loft is a great spot to meet up with friends or just to get out of the house to have a meal with your family. The service is alright. Staff try to be attentive and generally have a good attitude. Now, the quality and intention around the presentation/preparation of the food is what usually disappoints us. My partner had the southwest steak bowl. So bland. It tasted like it hadn’t been seasoned at all. Also, if you’re going to garnish with cilantro, the bottom half of the herb needs to go. Just a little tacky. My fish and chips were overcooked, dry and also just very oily. Yes, I understand that they’re fried, but a little more care with the frying could be taken. We were happy with the onion rings. They’re consistently very good and the chipotle aioli is delicious. Despite the lackluster food, we keep finding ourselves back at The Loft… maybe also hoping that the food will be a bit better. Also can’t beat the view of Liberty Bay.
