Story

The new local owners Tim and Denise invite you to the Lobster Shack. We personally pick all of our lobster and crab meat, and we create our bread selection daily. Here's a "taste" of our menu-
Lobster and Crab Sandwiches on homemade yeast bread. Real clam chowder with cornbread. Fresh green salad with your choice of lobster or crab and shack made dressing. Alvahs baked beans with hotdogs and coleslaw. Grilled cheese with chips for the kids! Daily soups and desserts. Oh and Jarods Dilly beans with all sandwiches! Come see us and enjoy!

Perfect restaurant for seafront fish and chips and Oysters. The triple fried fish and chips is honestly the best I've ever had and the Oysters are the cheapest at £1.60 each if you order 12. It's a perfect location facing the sea with lots of outside seating and a massive hidden seating area out the back so don't panic if it looks full when you first enter. The only downside is the app ordering as it takes away the personal service as well as makes your food come at random times. There's no need for this now Covid is over so if they brought back waitress/waiter service I'd give it 5 stars Dietary restrictions: Gluten free cod in batter was very welcome and tasted delicious
Delicious and fresh seafood. One of the best fish and chips I have ever had the pleasure of eating. The fish was moist and succulent and the beer batter was perfectly crunchy and not at all greasy. The chips were also delicious and proper chip shop chips. Other members of our party had the famous fresh local oysters and were so good, he will be going back for more before we leave Whitstable. They also gave raving reviews to the lobster. Definitely a great place to come If you want great views out across the beach and sea whilst enjoying some seafood.
Nothing like fresh oysters and lobster. Well served. Swift service, made easy by the app. Beautiful view of the sea. Not bad wine list. No park at the restaurant. Closest parking is 5 minutes walk.
Smashing location around on the peninsula. Signs will lead you around to it. Plenty of food and drink options as there’s a number of stalls/bars as well as the main restaurant. The platter was a mix - prawns/oysters/smoked salmon all delicious, but the whelks etc were average. Still a fun dish to share The cod and chips were 10/10. Sensational
Such a nice vibe here - there is live music on Friday and Saturday lunch times. We had great oysters, fish and chips and a lovely bottle of sparkling chapel down. Perfect lunch with some nice live music too. The food is not high end, more like pub food, but we really enjoyed it. Dietary restrictions: They did gluten free fish and chips which we really appreciated, both being gluten free.
Our favorite spot to end a day at the beach. Gets a bit busy in the evening so you can expect some waiting time. Its location is unbeatable as you can sit directly at the water while having your fish&chips. The online ordering system works quite well, so food is delivered directly to your table.
Brilliant place for seafood. We visited Whitstable for three days and most places were fully booked. Lobster Shack didn't take reservations so we were quite happy to drink and eat so well in such a lovely atmosphere. Kids friendly too Food: 4/5
The food is always excellent, fresh and local. The chips are superb. I also love that they have maintained ordering from an app if you want on this review they came over to take orders as well so it seems like a hybrid model now, so if you don't have a smartphone with you you're fine as it speeds departure when you're done. Staff have always been great. If I have one criticism, please drop the loud live music. It's a great venue with great views but the last time I was there I saw conversations across tables stop at whiplash speed when the music started. I know they're likely trying to help local artists which is great but for me it wrecks the experience.
A sunny Tuesday lunchtime in March and the place was almost full! I had 6 oysters, half pint of prawns and a pint of Sundowner. Delicious and very fresh. Ordering on app worked for me. Staff seemed pleasant and were clearing tables efficiently. I don’t think I’d come on summer weekends as the atmosphere would be noisy and rushed and I don’t like eating expensive food out of cardboard/plastic! Perfect winter time place. Recommend
Proper good spot to enjoy lovely seafood. It’s a bit out of the way but it’s all worth it when getting there! Staff were great, food was delicious and we left ready to continue exploring the town in the afternoon!
