The Lion Rampant Scottish Pub is situated right next to the waters with a wonderful view and a huge covered patio. One of the main reasons we’ve go back when we visit Duncan. The food is very standard pub fare, they do some good burgers, mac & cheese and etc. The burgers were seasoned well, and juicy. The food seems to be fairly consistent each time we visited. Prices are also very family friendly, with big portions. They also have interesting beers on tap. Service can sometimes be a hit and miss. As it’s very casual, you go in and sit yourselves, sometimes you could wait awhile before you get your server. It also depends how busy the restaurant is, which is understandable. While the view is excellent, the inside of the restaurant can use an update. The tables and chairs can feel greasy at times, the washrooms can use an update as well, but over all the restaurant is clean and organized. If you do go to Duncan, check this place out and give it a try. We only go during the day as you can take advantage of the view the best, but it is quieter during the day. So if you like a crowded pub atmosphere, then I recommend going at night.
Stopped in for lunch and to sit down to pick our new puppy on our way back home to Saltspring. First time stopping in. Amazing lunch, beautiful staff. Highly recommend. Didn't take pictures of the scrumptious foods:
Food and service were good. Had a great meal with friends. Pub environment is very nice with beautiful views over the water. Nice place definitely going back.
Lovely little pub/restaurant with good food and an even better view..... Stopped here for lunch when we were out on the motorbikes touring around Cowichan District.
Best fish and chips I’ve had on our week-long island trip. House-made coleslaw was also amazing! Beautiful view, quiet patio, friendly locals. A hidden gem for sure. Can’t wait to go back!
My family wanted to eat dinner so we visited the Lion Rampant Pub and ate here. The food was very good and for some of us it was a large quantity of food. The burgers were juicy and delicious. The view is nice as we looked out into the open while eating dinner which brought a nice mood. People under 19 would need to eat outside in a designated area.
Great pub in an extraordinary location, Maple Bay. Another gem on Vancouver Island.
What a surprise! We were driving around just for the fun and came to this place. The view from the pub is breathtaking.à We stopped for a beer and a nachos. The server was so nice, very smiley and helped us choose our drinks. We had a great time, the ambience was very laid back and cozy. After our meal we walked down to the dock and sat in the ! Thanks for the great afternoon!
Great pub. Good beer selection, good food. The view is amazing.
Nice location right by the water with views of maple bay. Had the "famous" mac and cheese - blue cheese - it was alright. Crispy cheese on the top. A little bland. Also had a Cesar salad which was a big serving and very good.
