A truly ‘safe bet’ for a great meal. The restaurant was busy but not packed that’s a good thing. Very clean. Excellent staff and service. Our waitress Jocelyn was attentive and had a great sense of humor. We were there during their Summer Lobster special menu. The lobster bisque was possibly the best I’ve ever tasted. Everyone had a steak combo and all were very good as you’d expect. Dessert was a shared ‘Billy Miner pie’ and strongly suggest saving room for this best to share…it’s quite generous. Lots of parking and clean washrooms.
Stopped in at The Keg for the first time on a trip thru. Service was phenomenal. Prompt, friendly, food was ready fairly quickly. Serving size is on the small side and price is very high. It's not difficult to approach $80 for one person.
Met up with friends and everyone enjoyed their meals. I didn’t like seeing two of the gals having to struggle cutting their sirloin steaks so I assumed the meat was tough. I never order steak anymore as the last two times I ordered the filet. there was gristle in it. Yum! I like it when the BM pie has some structure to it as ours were sitting out too long before it was served to us.
There was lots of loud rowdy guys, the waiter messed up our order and forgot part of the food, the food was over cooked and dry, but the dessert was tasty. Imo not worth the high cost for the meal and experience
We came to the Keg for dinner and we were not disappointed. Our waitress Kim was very happy and quick with her knowledge of the menu. I asked for her recommendation and she gave it with why she liked it. Explained that we could still have the summer lobster as they still had some. I asked about a drink I wanted to try and she explained that if I did not like it she would return it no charge and get me a new one, which did happen, FYI: CHILL MANGO MARGARITAS IS TO DIE FOR, lol. We ordered the Mushroom Neptune, was tasty but the mushrooms were very small. I had the Mixed Green salad and Sirloin Oscar and let me say, that was a 10/10 cooked to a perfect Medium and will be my order again. My boyfriend had the Peppercorn New York and he very much enjoyed it but said the peppercorns took alittle bit away from the taste of the perfectly cooked medium rare New York. All in all it was a wonderful meal and a very beautiful restaurant. Sorry no food pics as the food came and I dove in to eat! Lmao
Maybe The Keg isn't somewhere you'd think to go for good wings, but you'd be mistaken! The Three Pepper Wings are only on their bar menu and not always available. I had the chance to try them a week or so ago and was not disappointed. The chicken was crispy and without all of the fat that some wings can have. They were served with what I'm assuming was a three pepper sauce, which was a mild heat but gave a good kick at times, along with a light blue cheese dressing. There were plenty of blue cheese crumbles on top. I thought the sliced celery was a nice touch because it was incorporated into the dish rather than an afterthought on the side. It's a great dish for those who want to take "wings with a side of blue cheese" to the next level! -1 because I think $17 for 8 wings is expensive, but still something that I'd want to order every so often. UPDATE: I highly recommend the Prime Rib Sandwich as an alternative to the traditional dinner menu items -- it's less spendy and just as tasty! The tender meat, strong horseradish it's the best at The Keg, and generous portion of red wine herb jus were all very flavourful. I substituted a Caesar salad instead of fries at no additional cost. It's only $16 during cocktail hour on the bar side. I'll be going back for it again very soon!
Pretty poor for what you pay. Last 3 visits my steak wants cooked properly. If your a steakhouse and can't do steak right, there's a lock on the door, lock it, throw the key away, shame this used to be a great place to eat, last 3 times I left disappointed. I truly feel that if you enjoy a good meal at a fair price, You should spend your money elsewhere. I'd 0 star if I could Edit: Someone gave us gift cards, we had blackened chicken and soggy vegetables and a full rack of ribs, with about 16 fries. What you see in my pictures was 86 dollars. I feel so ripped off, I will no longer accept gift cards from the keg as gifts, they will be instantly regifted, these days when everyone is working hard to get ahead The Keg should be ashamed of itself to charge this much for this disgusting meal. I could not eat the ribs, they were awful, I ate the fries and threw the rest out. I went to Sobeys bought some ribs, gave em a proper rub and grilled in the bbq with a few smoke pucks. I will never spend another dollar, be it mine or a gift card in Keg Brandon, and whoever made my meal last night: You are not a chef, what was sent out last night was a disgrace, I would be ashamed to serve that to anyone. Anyone who prepares meals like this needs to just give up. Lastly I think it's a joke when your "bartender" who doesn't look like he's even legal to serve alcohol, has to look up the most basic drinks in a book. Time to close.
Ordered the sirloin Oscar to go. got back to hotel and there was no bernaise sauce so I called back and they made me a new order and this is was I got. My poor fork couldn't hack it!! It was burnt and even with a real steak knife I got from the hotel I had a hard time trying to cut through it. Didn't even eat it!!!
We were celebrating our anniversary and were quite disappointed about a few things. I had the lobster tail dinner. The sides were unsatisfactory. The mushroom rice was all clumped together, not warm, had no flavor and the texture was like it had been sitting all day or reheated several times. I had to break it up with my fork but it was still mush. The asparagus was dry, no flavor and actually stuck to the plate. Again it was like it had been sitting on the plate for a long time and just dried out. I sent both of these back. The lobster tasted okay but was quite overdone chewy and crispy. Thankfully there was hot butter. I waited for about 20 minutes to get a new plate of the sides by which time I had already finished my lobster. The replacement sides weren’t much better. However, the service overall was very good, the waiter was responsive and apologetic not his fault and the manager didn’t charge us for one round of drinks. Overall the quality of the food was very disappointing, especially for the price. I have to wonder if food is being cooked a long time in advance of service and left to sit for hours in warming ovens, causing it to dry out and lose flavor and texture. This is now at least 3 times in a row that we have been disappointed. We won’t be going to this Keg again.
Always great food with fantastic service. Very welcoming and inviting staff, mixed with new art and music has made this restaurant very enjoyable. Menu is simple and straight to the point but we'll executed. I always enjoy my time there.Food: 5/5
