I had a genuinely wonderful experience at this restaurant. The Hungry Dragon is family owned, and the staff are super welcoming and friendly. This was my first time eating here, and the staff were very happy to introduce us to the place, tell us about the menu items, and share their favourites. The food is all fresh and made from original recipes, and it is easy to tell how much love is put into cooking it. Their classic sauce is delicious, and their deep dish pizza is the best pizza I've ever had. We hit it off so well with the staff, they gave us an ice cream on the house. I felt truly at home at The Hungry Dragon, and I will definitely be coming back! Vegetarian options: The Green Dragon pizza is vegetarian. Kid-friendliness: This is a very family-friendly restaurant.
Came for dinner for two on Sunday, so it was very quiet with lots of seating available. The food was absolutely delicious and the server was very attentive, checking in with us and refilling water often. We got a Caesar Bacon salad with a two person Smokey Cheese & Meat deep dish pizza. The pizza was really filling, so we had to take two slices home! We arrived at 6:30 and stayed until closing at 9. Restaurant location is a little hard to find have to take a side street to find this plaza with Farm Boy but parking is plentiful. Will definitely be back again, thank you! Parking: Restaurant is in a plaza, so a lot of outdoor parking is available.
Pizza joint that offers both thin and deep dish pizza with a twist of a few different sauce varieties. Definitely interesting, though in hindsight two sauces overpowered the pizza flavour and toppings so would not recommend it, personally. Garlic bowl was interesting, with more cheese than garlic flavour. Ordered takeout which came on time, though in other comments it was stated there's an online ordering fee which goes to third-party. Given that vast majority of direct ordering from restaurants aren't contending or passing on such a fee to their customers and pizza is a big takeout meal may want to look at alternate platforms, or at minimum offer over phone ordering. All in all, decent pizza dough, but in personal choice shouldn't have gone with sauce on top as no other flavours could be tasted. It seems to be more equipped as a sit down meal.
Excellent deep dish Chicago style pizza. Family owned and run even though it might look like a corporate/chain restaurant from the outside. Very friendly and attentive service. They are proud of their restaurant and you can taste it in the food. Had onion rings with my take out order, unfortunately they were so good they did not make it home so no photos
The crust was very good, very very good. My only issue is with the halal meats in the king meat deep dish pizza I got. The meats were just…odd. The steak tasted off and was very chewy I don’t think it was “steak”. The pepperoni didn’t taste good either. The chicken was very mild with no seasoning. I think the vegetarian options might taste good but I would refrain from ordering the meat options. Service was very good too.
Celebrated my 38th Birthday here surrounded by family and the best deep dish outside of Chicago. Even had the chance to meet the owner- she brought out freshly baked cookies for our table as a little present. Cant say enough about this joint. Good vibes only. Fantastic service, exceptional pies,
Great dining/patio experience. Great family owned restaurant. Customer service at it's best. Definitely coming back for Mocha Affogato. Personally not a fan of deep dish pizza in general but the portions and toppings were hearty and it was well baked for a deep dish so passed the test. Also tried the Lime float. Definitely worth it. The server was really friendly and speaks extremely passionately about the business owned by her family. Highly recommended...
The Hungry Dragon’s deep dish pizza is so good! The first ever deep dish pizza I’ve ever had, has set a standard for every deep dish pizza I’ll ever have again! The cheese is stringy, the meats in their are amazing, and the crust is also good! Their cheese is so long, I think it’s even reached up to one metre while I was eating it!
Awesome pizzas, ordered Mango Tango, nice kick and less intense than pineapple. It was good but Philly deep was Plenty of meaty filling and great crust. Most importantly though, great hosts. I dropped my food accidentally as soon as I left the restaurant and they remade it for me. Definitely coming back here again whenever I get the chance. Thanks again!
Excellent deep dish halal pizza. We tried the Philly cheese steak which was just wow, the mango one and the vegetarian one too. All were great. But, and this is an important hack, I would ask for all the sauces or drizzles on the side. We completely finished the sauces and they made the pizza extra yum. Service was world class. All respect to the family who is running this place.
