While enjoying a quick getaway, my boyfriend and I made reservations for dinner at Hudson House. Upon arriving, we were warmly greeted by one of the owners of the establishment named Matt who also happens to make the delectable desserts here. We immediately felt welcome, and at ease by the laid back elegance and warmth of the place. The Cuisine and cocktails at this establishment were excellent. This is one of the best meals we have had recently in our travels. The service was friendly, and attentive. We had a meal that was soup to nuts, and every bite of it was fantastic. This place is priced on the higher side, but very much reasonable for the quality and quantity of food you receive. We both had beef for our entree—I had the hanger steak, while my Boyfriend had the Wagu beef. The hanger steak was the better entree both were delicious, but the hanger steak was more tender. The desserts are to die for—the Crack Pie is an absolute MUST!! We left this place feeling completely content, in both our bellies and our mindset. It was an absolute pleasure to have dined here, we will most certainly be returning to Hudson House on a regular basis.
I have absolutely found a new favorite restaurant which is Hudson House. Everything about the experience from walking in to walking out is incredible. The staff are amazing, personable, intentional, kind, energetic and so much more. Our go to server is Jose and he is a firecracker! The owner Matt is so kind and engaged with all customers. The stories you’ll hear from his background and of the restaurant’s history are special! My fave plates are: short rib, gnudi, tiger shrimp pasta and OF COURSE crack pie! Can’t wait to go back soon
Really had a nice time here. Went for dinner and we had the steak for 2 with the roasted potatoes and broccoli rabe. Everything came out perfectly and delicious. The dessert was really good as well. Nice service too.
I could not recommend the Hudson House more, especially for special occasions or date nights. First off, the service was amazing and incredibly attentive at all times. The food was presented beautifully and tasted amazing as well. Everything tasted fresh with each dish being crafted to really bring out the flavors.
Had a fantastic dining experience at Hudson House this past weekend. The wait staff, service staff, and owner went above and beyond expectations. The grilled octopus was cooked to perfection and the entrees and desert were excellently prepared and tasted fantastic. Overall a phenomenal experience made even better by the exceptional quality of service we received. The owner Matt Hudson even took time to explain some of his hand-carved art which was a delight. Would highly recommend Hudson House to anyone.

My wife and I have been going to Hudson House for a couple years now and it never disappoints. I'm a huge fan of the pork chop and my wife loves the fish but all of their entrees are delicious. Matt owner is very personable and truly understands how to run a restaurant; always trying to fit us in during peak times without a reservation. Waiters are extremely nice and can't do enough for you. I think this is one of the best restaurants in Rockland County. Its great for a date night, the ambiance is perfect. Get there early for a craft cocktail at the bar and make sure you enjoy their homemade desserts crack pie is legend!
This is by far my favorite place in the world to eat I have yet to explore the world internationally except for Haiti this place just reads comfort love support happiness. I love Mat Hudson chef/dessert maker/server/bartender he’s great the way he participates the photography he has taken his artistry through the images in the store and through the food mainly the desserts. I always feel welcome there. There has been times that I have walked in without a reservation and he always took the time to find seating for me. I love Alexis server I always hope to get her when I arrive her spirit is lovely and she’s super attentive My favorite items to get is shrimp and grits and any steak they have to offer but as for now the hanger steak is my favorite this is a small plate place except the food it Pops with flavors out of this world the menu is simple The food unique the people wonderful every single time I hope this stays open for a hundred years
This is the absolute best place around! I’ve been coming here for years. The atmosphere is unique, the servers are awesome especially Jose, the food is Michelin quality and the desserts…all homemade by Matt himself! I would eat here everyday if I could! This is the only restaurant I order appetizers, entrees and desserts. I leave completely overstuffed but can’t do it any other way! You must try this place and make sure to break Jose’s chops for me
Wife and I decided to have a nice dinner in Nyack and kept hearing about how awesome the Hudson House is so we went to fill our bellies. Let me start by saying that Mr. Matthew Hudson owner was such an outstanding man. Nothing makes someone feel more welcomed than an owner introducing themselves and giving you a little history on the place. Our waitress, Meagan was also very attentive and awesome! We had the cheese plate for appetizer which was great, followed by our entrees which was the pasta and tiger shrimp and the braised short rib. I could’ve probably had 2 plates because it was soooo good! My wifes’ dish was also delicious and I know because I’m greedy and had more than just a taste of hers, BUT it’s all good because we had space for dessert, which was made by Mr. Matthew Hudson himself. It had to be the best dessert we’ve had in Rockland thus far. I can’t remember the name of the desserts but they were so amazing as well. The staff are wonderful and it’s a reflection of the owner and how well Mr. Hudson runs his restaurant. Kudos! Thanks for a great dinner and wonderful evening. We will definitely be back.
